🌱 The Power of Fermentation: Is It All It's Cracked Up to Be?🌱 Fermented foods have become a staple in many health-conscious diets, but how much do we really know about their benefits? A recent article from RNZ sheds light on this, exploring both the advantages and misconceptions surrounding fermented foods like kombucha, kimchi, and yes....tempeh. One key takeaway from the article is the emphasis on the unique nutritional benefits of fermentation. "Fermentation can increase the bioavailability of certain nutrients, making them easier for our bodies to absorb," the article highlights. This means that not only are fermented foods delicious, but they also pack an extra punch when it comes to nourishing our bodies. At Henry’s Tempeh, we’ve always believed in the power of fermentation to transform simple ingredients into something extraordinary. Our tempeh, for instance, is a rich source of complete protein, fiber, and essential nutrients, all enhanced through the fermentation process. It’s a perfect example of how traditional methods can meet modern nutrition needs. The article also encourages a thoughtful approach to incorporating fermented foods into your diet. "It's important to choose high-quality, minimally processed products," the author notes—a philosophy we stand by at Henry’s Tempeh. Our tempeh is made from Organic, non-GMO soybeans, ensuring that every bite is as healthy as it is tasty. We’re proud to be part of the fermented food revolution, bringing the benefits of this ancient process to modern tables. How much do you know about mushrooms? The Mushroom Meat Co.'s products move mushrooms from supplements to the center of the plate. We give people the ingredients and nutrition they desire with the taste and texture they crave. "In addition to providing nutrients in a super-efficient package, mushrooms have unique properties that lend to supporting the immune system, improving cognitive function, and reducing the risk of cancer. " "When swapped in as a meat substitute, mushrooms can significantly lower the calorie, cholesterol, and saturated fat count while providing additional micronutrients and satiating fiber you don’t get from animal foods." When consuming nutrition-related headlines and media remember that correlation does not equal causation. This recent article highlighting a possible link between the common artificial sweetener erythritol and blood clot risk is definitely worth paying attention to and warrants further research, but hold off on pressing the panic button just yet. Erythritol is a naturally occurring substance in many fruits, vegetables, and fermented foods. This study design involved giving quite a large dose (30 grams) to a study group of only 10 people. Given the widespread use of erythritol as an additive in food products, I recommend trying to choose options that utilize sweeteners like stevia, honey, and maple syrup when possible until we learn more. https://lnkd.in/emDgZW8s

Postharvest losses currently exceed 50%! A recent in-depth article highlights the challenges and emerging trends in preserving the harvest and nutritional value of berries. It emphasizes the importance of adopting new approaches and comprehensive process control to ensure high quality and maximum nutrient retention. Freeze-drying after post-harvest processing can significantly impact both the safety and nutritional value of berries. By using advanced technologies, we are setting a new standard for maintaining the benefits of these nutritious fruits while minimizing waste. At Gemuani Healthy Food, we are committed to leading the way with solutions that preserve nature's goodness, ensuring quality from farm to table. How does freeze-dry technology help? - It dramatically reduces postharvest losses. - Enhances food safety by preventing the growth of fungi and bacteria with a water content of less than 3-4%. - We using Controlled Atmosphere (CA) storage and ozone treatment during production. Consuming a variety of fruits and vegetables is essential for our health, providing minerals, vitamins (like niacin, thiamine, and vitamin C), phytochemicals (such as flavonoids and anthocyanins), nutraceuticals, and dietary fibers. Freeze-drying preserves up to 98% of these nutrients, concentrating them 10-12 times per gram of product. According to the World Health Organization, a daily intake of 400g of fresh fruits and vegetables is recommended (WHO, 2008). With Gemuani's freeze-dried products, you can achieve this in just 30g – and 30g of a tasty, fun snack is much easier (and more appealing) to give to kids! With Gemuani, enjoy the full nutritional benefits of fruits all year round. #Gemuani #Georgia #Healthy #kids #snacks #wellness #babefood #vegan #foodingredients https://lnkd.in/d8RwYiBJ

Transitioning to a diet of certified organic food is one of the simplest changes you can make to profoundly improve your health and well-being. The amount of chemicals and toxins contained in the S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) is astounding. This includes Glyphosate, Lead, Cadmium , harmful Antibiotics and many others that are Endocrine Disruptors, that can lead to issues such as depression, anxiety, and Estrogen dominance. This effects not just you, but everyone around you. Eating organic food will also make it much easier to reach your body composition goals. The increased nutrient density, and reduced toxic load, will improve your internal environment and help you to maintain homeostasis. When you are toxic and out of balance, your system will simply not prioritize fat loss. One other thing to note is that many people find that after two to three months of eating predominantly organic food, they are consuming thirty to thirty-five percent fewer calories, because of the same two aforementioned factors, nutrient density and toxic load.If anyone has any questions, or would like some tips on how to transition to an organic diet, feel free to message me. This is one of my favorite topics and I would be happy to discuss it with you.
