HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd Ltd has awarded over £3 billion in contracts for the high-speed rail project's key Rail Systems, which include track, signalling, and communications. These contracts have been granted under a "Rail Systems Alliance" structure to ensure seamless collaboration among contractors, optimize design and logistics, and manage interfaces effectively. Key Contract Awards: 1. Track Systems: Awarded to a joint venture between Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall, covering track installation and infrastructure maintenance from Old Oak Common to Birmingham Curzon Street. 2. Overhead Catenary Systems: Colas Rail will handle the electrification, utilizing SNCF Réseau’s V360 design for speeds up to 360 km/h. 3. Operational Telecommunications and Security Systems: Siemens Mobility will deliver the telecommunication and security infrastructure. 4. Nationalised Rail…. It is with very mixed feelings that I hear what the new Government plan to do with the rail industry. On the up: Yes we most definitely need to invest in the infrastructure of the National rail system. Yes we need to invest in our rolling stock and assets. Yes we need to support British industry who would traditionally build the new fleets of vehicles. On the down side: We have no money in the Government coffers to offer huge scale investment. There is a distinct lack of foresight in what is actually needed to shift goods and passengers onto the rail and off our roads. We do not have a huge amount of qualified engineers waiting round for this build plan to kick off. They have all left to enter more viable positions with security for their families. Hitachi, Alstom and CAF rail - none of these are British owned vehicle builders. Where do they start?

The current bridge often causes delays due to its limited clearance and mechanical failures in opening and closing. 3. Modernization: The bridge will include modern rail infrastructure such as updated tracks, signals, and power systems, ensuring better reliability and safety for both rail and maritime operations.
