TransPennine Express is celebrating the five-year anniversary of its Nova fleet. 🛤️ Since their debut in 2019 the Nova 1 and Nova 2 fleets have collectively covered an impressive 21,187,042 miles across the network, with over 28 million customers having travelled on the Nova 1s and more than 14 million customers having travelled on the Nova 2s. 💺 The fleet of trains have offered several upgrades to improve customer comfort. Last week, we celebrated the successful completion of the UK's first intercity battery trial with Hitachi Rail UK and TransPennine Express. This multimillion-pound investment by Angel Trains and Hitachi Rail has shown the benefits that battery technology can deliver on existing and new fleets, driving forward a greener mode of transport that benefits passengers and the environment. Well done to our team and all the amazing participants for successfully completing the Railway Children's first Scotland Triple Challenge. They cycled 45 kilometers, kayaked 10 kilometers and climbed Ben Nevis in just two days!
