So many Canadians are struggling with financial stress, which is impacting their productivity at work. Yet, most companies only offer a package of blog posts and calculators as a financial wellness program. Unfortunately, this is not going to help the problem. Learn more👇 https://lnkd.in/eumHjj9r #FinancialWellness #FinancialStress #Employers
According to the National Payroll Institute, 56% of Canadian employees say they are less productive at work because of money worries*. The last year has brought an increase in financial stress, and 29% of those making over $100,000 report living paycheque to paycheque. Further, 72% said they are feeling the pressure of housing costs. Of those who said they feel stressed financially, 77% said their debt feels overwhelming. Unfortunately, I’m still seeing too many companies adding “financial wellness” programs that are no more than a collection of blog posts behind a login. If this was a good solution, we wouldn't have a problem. Money is complicated and loaded with discomfort and myths that put many workers in a position to inadvertently increase their financial stress. Stop making financial wellness a checkbox exercise, where anything will do so you can get it off your list. Employers out there; it may not be your fault that your employees are financially stressed but, I promise you, it is your problem. Current financial stress induced distractions are costing companies $53.9 billion dollars. You’ve got to do better. And the solution that doesn’t have a way to measure actual financial health improvements isn’t going to cut it. Hint, a bunch of blog posts, and some calculators that can’t save the learner’s data, aren’t a financial wellness program. * https://lnkd.in/gPh64rQ9

As we wrap up another financial year, there are some key changes on the horizon. Here's what’s changing and how it might impact your business.
🌟 Upcoming Changes to Payroll and Hiring Costs 🌟 Did you know that the new financial year brings several significant changes that will impact payroll and hiring costs for businesses? Here are the key updates: 🔹 Workers’ Compensation Premium Increase: Starting July 1, 2024, the average rate of workers’ compensation premiums in NSW will rise by 8%. This increase is part of a three-year policy period directed by Workplace Health and Safety Minister Sophie Cotsis. The aim is to enhance workplace safety and ensure fair premium calculations based on industry risk and safety performance. Individual premiums may vary depending on specific factors like industry, claims history, and safety performance 🔹 Superannuation Guarantee Increase: From July 1, 2024, the Superannuation Guarantee (SG) rate will increase from 11% to 11.5%. This means that employers will need to contribute more to their employees' superannuation funds, boosting retirement savings but also impacting overall payroll costs. This increase is part of a phased plan to reach a 12% contribution rate by 2025 🔹 Minimum Wage Increase: The National Minimum Wage will also see a 3.75% increase starting July 1, 2024. This brings the minimum wage to $24.10 per hour or $915.90 per week, affecting employees not covered by an award or registered agreement. This change aims to support low-income workers amidst rising living costs We will be in touch with all our clients in the coming weeks. We understand that these changes can impact your business. Our team is here to help you navigate these updates, ensuring compliance and effective management of your hiring and payroll costs. #Payroll #HiringCosts #Recruitment #WorkersCompensation #Superannuation #MinimumWage #FinancialYear2024 #WorkhorseStaffing
