The Esports World Cup Foundation announced the list of teams participating in the Esports World Cup Club Support Program. The organizations include: Cloud9 Esports, Inc., Blacklist International, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, FURIA, G2 Esports, Gaimin Gladiators, Karmine Corp, Gen.G, Guild Esports, Movistar KOI, OG Esports, NRG Esports, Weibo Corporation Gaming, T1 Entertainment & Sports, TALON, Twisted Minds, Natus Vincere, Team Secret, Team Vitality, TSM, LGDGaming, LOUD, Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, Team Falcons, Virtus.pro, Spacestation Gaming, 100 Thieves, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Europe and North America are heavily represented among the esports orgs’ regions, with Asia, South America, and the Middle East having the lowest representation in the bunch. The program will support esports organizations in receiving six figure funding to enter into new esports titles. The program will also allow orgs to expand into new international markets by signing athletes and rosters outside their home region. The club support program expanded its number of available slots from 28 to 30, given more than 150 applications were received. Eight of the 30 clubs were selected through an open application period that measured an org’s esports pedigree, its forward looking competitive strategy and goals, and its creative approach to content and fan engagement. With the Esports World Cup coming up soon, there will be $60 million in prize pool on the line across 20 different titles. The event itself will span from July 3rd through August 25th across 8 weeks and various titles spanning multiple weeks. For reference, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) is a part of the funding for the Esports World Cup, which sees ties to Savvy Games Group and ESL FACEIT Group - EFG which owns ESL Gaming, FACEIT, and DreamHack. Can teams outshine their esports titles? 🌟 Recently, the RLCS 2024 World Championship viewership statistics caught our eye: the playoffs match between G2 Esports Stride and Karmine Corp was the most popular game of the event, achieving over 100,000 more concurrent viewers than the event’s ultimate grand finals. Usually, we expect viewership to steadily increase throughout the playoffs stage, but sometimes, the event record happens during earlier matches. This phenomenon isn't new to esports and happens across multiple scenes. For instance, MOONTON GAMES Mobile Legends: Bang Bang matches usually have higher peaks before the finals at world championship events thanks to match-ups that represent both the game’s Indonesian and Filipino audiences. Counter-Strike’s peaks were largely due to popular teams coming together (i.e. Natus Vincere + FURIA), whereas Sentinels alone were able to fuel Valorant viewership, as the red organization outgrew the NA Valorant scene. However, competitiveness can be just as important as popularity. G2 Esports vs T1 Entertainment & Sports was not the Grand Final at Worlds 2019, but these two were accepted as the world’s best by many fans, and their match outperformed the Final by 7%. ESPORTS = PC SUPERIOR PLATFORM 🖱 👑 If you ask to an EU W Esports fan this is probably what he gonna says : ESPORTS is a PC thing, period ! Glad to see that the Esports World Cup is having a global vision of the ecosystem and thinks about all regions and all the fans accross the globe. For instance these are the 5 first games that have been announced for the biggest event of the year in Riyadh this summer the #EWC : - 💣Counter Strike 2 - ⚔️Mobile Legends - 🧙Dota 2 - 👾StarCraft II - 👑Honor of Kings 2 out of 5 are mobile esports titles and this is something we need to understand. Indeed, the genesis of esports mostly came from PC games (and some console games especially for the N/A market), but the future of our ecosystem cannot be shaped without mobiles games. Billions of people are owning a smartphone which makes the growth potential of our industry nearly "unlimited". Thanks to that new sponsors will come, the number of neophytes will expand on a daily basis and our viewership is going to beat more and more major sports. As a EU W esports fan in his thirties, Esports will always remain in my heart a PC thing for me, but as true passionate about this ecosystem and as a Partnership Manager in this industry, I'm more than happy to extend my knowledge of this sector to new games and to watch these competitions with the same fervor as I have for my favourite games such as CS, Valorant, R6....etc What are your thoughts on mobile esports games and what games do you want to see at the Esports World Cup?

Quick view of Esports World Cup progress In early May, 30 esports clubs from around the world joined the Esports World Cup Foundation program, receiving financial support to prepare for the upcoming world championship in Riyadh. This initiative has encouraged organizations to explore new games and strengthen their teams. According to Esports Charts, this program has had a significant impact on the industry. The Esports ecosystem allows each club to seek sponsors and investments independently, shaping their focus based on available financial resources. However, clubs often face resource constraints that require careful consideration when adding new players or forming rosters. The Esports World Cup Foundation's support helps streamline this process, enabling clubs to explore new opportunities and disciplines. Although the exact funding provided to program participants has not been disclosed, representatives have indicated that some organizations might receive substantial annual support, potentially up to six figures. Clubs are expected to use these funds to improve infrastructure, expand rosters in new games, and create content. Out of 150 applications, only 30 clubs secured official partnership status with the EWC, highlighting the competitive nature of the selection process. Here are the teams who are participating in the 19 games from 30 organization.
