Metabolic-Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) is the most common, chronic liver disease and it affects about 25% of the world's population. From a nutrition perspective, high-carbohydrate or high-fat diets can contribute to developing hepatic steatosis via glucotoxicity and lipotoxicity. In particular, a diet high in sugar (e.g., fructose and sucrose) increases the risk of MAFLD, primarily because the increased blood glucose from large carb intake exerts harmful effects on cells. Various nutrition and lifestyle interventions can help support liver health for at-risk or those already diagnosed with MAFLD! To learn more about how IFNCP Functional Nutritionists help patients prevent and manage MAFLD, check out our blog: https://lnkd.in/e2rt8bNn #IFNAcademy #IFNA #fattyliver #liverdisease #gutliverconnection #healthylifestyle #foodismedicine #dietitians #dietitiansofinstagram #healing

Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent disease and it has been recommended in some studies that individuals reduce dietary intake of fat and increase fiber in their diet to reduce circulating estrogen concentrations. Some studies further suggest that plant-based diets have anti-inflammatory properties that may benefit women with endometriosis (Barnard et al., 2023). Women have reported that dietary changes like reducing or eliminating gluten, dairy and various carbohydrates have helped to manage symptoms including pelvic pain, nausea and vomiting (Armour et al., 2021).
