Noticing the early signs can make a difference in early diagnosis. Every Parkinson's story is different because every person is different, but it all starts with small changes. For instance, a slight tremor in the hand while pouring coffee. Or difficulty tying shoes, balance issues, and slowness in speech. Discovering Parkinson's disease can be an emotionally intense moment, but it's also the beginning of a journey of treatment, listening, and support. #parkinson #parkinsonsdisease #parkinsonsawareness #PD

May is ALS Awareness month. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive disease in which the brain loses connection with the muscles, slowly taking a person's ability to walk, talk, eat and eventually breathe. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for ALS, although researchers around the world are tirelessly working to understand the disease better and to develop potential treatments. However, there is support available for those dealing with or caring for someone with a motor neurone disease (MND) like ALS. Below we have linked to some organisations that help and aim to spread awareness of ALS and MND. https://lnkd.in/epsTwDBN https://lnkd.in/gH5gvtmk #alsawarness #ALSsupport #AlsAwarenessmonth

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects both voluntary and involuntary muscle movement. People with ALS eventually lose the ability to move, eat, speak, and breathe on their own. For most people with ALS, there are no treatments to significantly slow or stop the disease. Researchers at the ALS Therapy Development Institute, and around the world, are working hard to change this. www.als.net/May #EndALS #ALSawarenessMonth
