Why don't writers ever get locked out of the office? Because they always have the right "key" words. --------------- Why did the writer sit at their desk with a pencil and a piece of paper? Because they wanted to draw more attention to their work! ----------- Why did the editor go to therapy? To deal with their issues. ----------- Why did the content writer take a break? They needed to give their ideas some space. ----------- Why do content writers never get lost? Because they always follow the plot. ----------- Why did the writer bring a pen to the meeting? To make a point! ----------- Why was the writer always calm under pressure? They knew how to stay composed. ---------- Why did the content writer join the gym? To work on their drafts. ---------- Why did the writer refuse to work with the new computer? It didn't have enough character. ---------- Why do writers always succeed in interviews? They know how to spell success. ---------- Thanks to Sushree Dash for this amazing post idea 😌 #blogger #contentwriter #corporatejokes #contentwriting

I wrote this LinkedIn post: “If people are confused about what you’re selling, they’re gonna keep scrolling. Hiring strong writers and editors can help with that. ✍️ “ Then I clicked the ‘Rewrite with AI’ button and it gave me this: “If you want to attract potential buyers, clarity is key. If people can't understand what you're selling, they'll just keep scrolling. That's why hiring strong writers and editors is so important. With their help, you can communicate your message clearly and effectively. Don't let confusion stand in the way of your success. Invest in quality writing and editing today. #clarityiskey #strongwriting #editing #communication” So, yeah. The argument for writers and copy editors still stands. 😆

Greetings fellow writers! Since many of you have recently related to my problems as a content writer, can we talk about something that's been weighing on my mind lately? DEADLINES!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂 Seriously, why do some employers, especially those middlemen, expect us to write a flawless, well-researched 2000-3000 word article in the blink of an eye? I remember a lady asking me to rewrite a 5000 words research article in 2 hours. Yes, you read that right! 🙂 Dear employers, we are not robots! Writing takes time — it's not just about typing away. It’s about diving deep into research, finding the perfect words, and reviewing it over and over again. If employers have a ton of work and tight deadlines, why not spread the load? Instead of burdening one writer, they could hire multiple writers to get the job done without sacrificing quality. It's a win-win for everyone involved! Let's take a moment to appreciate employers like Muhammad Ahmad Khan , the person I love working with. He doesn't throw deadlines at me; he asks how much time I need to do justice to the task. And guess what he gets in return? Top-notch content with minimal errors because I've got the time to do it right. I hope we see more employers like Muhammad Ahmad Khan who understand that good writing is a process, not a race. Who’s with me? 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♂️ #contentwriting #writinglife #deadlines #qualityoverquantity

"If I were interviewing someone for a content writer role here's what I would ask; 1. What resources do you read, listen to, or watch everyday?" This took me back to a previous job interview for a web content writer role, where I was asked; "Which book are you currently reading?" Quickly I replied 'Becoming' by Mitchelle Obama Yes, that was my current read. I had been idle at home so I was reading books for fun. PS: I didn't think it was important but it landed me the job😊😊.... and my boss kept asking that question every month. I however don't think this question arises in interviews nowadays. Most employers think "after all, this person will use AI to write content". I dare say this attitude is making young writers lazy. Or, perhaps it's why content writers are underpaid because they're assumed to have a cheat code for their work. Maybe we should go back to "what book are you currently reading" and foster the culture of labouring to achieve near perfection in our copies. What do you think? #contentwriter #writing

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm saying this as a content writer who has above a decade of experience in creative writing and has also garnered several publications over the years. I believe there is always going to be a difference between a content writer who chose the profession as an additional skill set they can monetize from, and a content writer who chose the profession because they love the art of writing itself. A lot of people, especially those from non-content backgrounds, may think writing is just about coming up with flowery words on the spot and having them displayed visually over a post. But a writer who has spent ages understanding the art of impacting people through words, reading works of other writers and finally coming up with their own unique writing style is going to go a step above just pairing a bunch of words together and ticking a task off their list. They will put themselves in the shoes of their reader and write from a place that speaks genuinely to their audience rather than just providing them with a piece of information. They will have this attention to detail and a certain level of empathy that you may not experience in the work of a writer who writes without putting in much thought. When hiring writers in your team, while it's important to have a look at their resume and career history, it's also very important to gauge the 'relationship' they have with writing. Is writing their true calling and something that they use as a creative medium, or just something they picked up along the way to fall back on if nothing else works out? #contentwriting #creativewriting #contentwriter #corporateadvice #corporateinsights

As a #writer, I've faced quite a number of struggles, some of them self-inflicted... yes I'm accountable like that, lol. Let's get into some of them: Procrastination: Chai! this one is the 'Mamalawo' of them all. I think what fuels this procrastination habit is the fact that the job still gets done on or before the deadline, so it's easy to say, "I met up the last time, so why would this time be any different?" God abeg 😩. If you have a #solution that works, please share. Writers Block: This one can be so frustrating, when you hit that wall... no AI tool can help and you just have to push through it. Posting Everyday: I've to keep giving reasons why you should trust me with your writing jobs. Posting everyday on this space is harddddd, I can't even pretend... It doesn't help that procrastination stares me in the face everyday. But will I give up? NEVER. This is why your girl is back and I'll be posting EVERYDAY for the next 30 days here, even if it's just a one-liner... I'd be grateful to have #accountability partner(s). Day 1 done and dusted. Let's do this 🔥👏🏿 Don't forget, I'm the #ContentWriter #Editor and #ProofReader you're looking for.

Are you doing the right thing for the right reasons? There's a lot of talk going around these days about doing the right thing. It means different things to different people. To me, it means polishing your message, your stories, until they shine. It means making sure we're giving the readers the right message. Staying true to the throughline. That's one of the functions of a developmental editor. It's her job, my job, to make sure you're using the right word in the right place. It's making sure your stories are relevant and useful, not just fun to tell. As the image here shows, Integrity reveals beauty, from personal coach Thomas Leonard. (shared first by Bryan Sagray) It's my job to keep your integrity in tact. Because the beauty of what you want to say, share, accomplish, is firmly based on that integrity. I believe it. So should you. Beauty in life is more than what we see with our eyes, or feel with our touch. Beauty is how we work, also. Do you agree that integrity in writing is necessary? Tell me more in the comments. #savethispost _____________________________________________________ 📚 Books are my business. 🤩 I'm the 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘳 for a reason. 👍🏼 I search for and uncover the best stories to tell, for my authors. 🌼 All of this because I believe, Good things come to those who write. 😸 Connect with me here. Before you put pen to paper (or fingers to the keyboard), know who you’re writing for. This applies to all content, but even more so when you’re writing tech. Tech audiences vary a lot. A loooottttttt…. There are people -who pays to make things -who decides what to make -who design them -who builds products ……… ……… -And there are people who use them. All of them -understand the product differently -have different pain points -value different things. If you don’t define who you’re writing for Some people may -Not understand what you’ve written -Don’t care about what you’ve written -Never see what you’ve written. Looking for a writer who understands the tech audience? Shoot me a DM and let’s talk business. #Tech #ContentWriter #ContentWriting

Saying 'NO' to free samples‼️ Content writers are often evaluated by the quantity of content they can deliver. Meeting the KPIs are fine, but asking a content writer for a 1000 word sample in the name of evaluation is very wrong. While applying for jobs, as candidates, content writers are asked to submit a write up and sometimes it goes up to 2000+ words. Dear assignees, before you click the send button, please think over it and understand the efforts it takes to draft a piece of content, improvise it, and proofread it. Similarly, rarely do the recruiters revert to the content writers if the samples are rejected. If you're very particular about getting a sample, keep a word limit of 200 words, because in my opinion, if you want to evaluate a content writer, it would take not more than 10 mins to know the language, grammar, and niche knowledge. Most importantly, kindly consider getting a paid sample if you feel you can only evaluate the candidate by long form writing. #nofreesamples #valueforwords

Nothing frustrates me more than seeing those ads out there from writing coaches that say things like “do you love writing?” As if it's the love of something alone that makes you good at it. Or worse, that somehow loving it makes it, somehow, easier. I immediately do not trust these ads or the people who made them. In my experience, writers, even great writers, don’t love to write. Writing is hard. Often painful. Like doing anything well, it takes time, not just talent. Practice not just passion. Labor, not love alone. We, who live day after day in the practice do not love writing. We love is “having written.” It's why we hire writing help in the first place. Or better yet, why we hire writers in the first place. Because it's hard. And it takes a unique set of skills to do it well. To interpret other peoples' meaning. To communicate something clearly. With intent. To an action. AI tools will interpret what you're asking for. And deliver something based on something else someone else has written and thought about before. It might be ok. It might be good enough. But it will still require someone to review and polish it into something meaningful. So there really aren't many shortcuts to good writing. Which is why it doesn't matter if you love it or not. Writers, good writers, great writers especially have to do it. They feel a pull, a need. They have no choice but to write. They don't write because they want to. They write because they need to. And that is the difference. #storymatters #wordsmatter #contentstrategy #strategy
