This is a quick video of a recent project in the Heavyweight corridor in Carson. This area allows trucks to be at the higher end of the weight spectrum for movement to and from the ports allowing greater efficiency. This comes at a cost as often the aggregate in the material is fractured from these excessive weights. This was a very quick turn around project for a short term lease for a very good customer. The new tenant needed the building “as is” meaning foregoing the usual track of R&R with CTB, 8” concrete sections , etc. We ended up removing approximately 48 old post footings, putting in a larger 20x80x8” pcc slab for a loading area, removing the 2’ flow line for an 8” x 48” one and some general Cleanup of potholes, bad areas, etc. We had to pick and choose the worst case areas and those we thought were most likely to give the tenant issues plus anything they specifically requested. These are fun as they have a quick turnaround but I like the big -R&R when it looks all new when done. Scratch that - I like it all To be honest. Our crew and subs did an outstanding job mobilizing quickly amidst a packed schedule - leaving me wondering how they fit these things in. It looks great and customer and tenant are happy - all in a days work. Thank you to everyone - you know who you are - customer, production and office working together for a common goal.
