Axel Peyriere thanks for sharing these numbers. I was just wondering why your figures are different from that of Crunchbase please? Did you factor in some other types of investments etc to get $1.78B as against their $0.5B (H1)? Thanks. Granted you looked at 9months and theirs was 6, but their numbers is typically lower than yours. https://news.crunchbase.com/venture/north-american-funding-lead-widens-h1-2024-ai/

Impressive numbers, but with all this investment, are we really seeing the tangible impact on African innovation? It’s great to see money flowing in, but I worry that too many investors are just following trends rather than supporting startups with real potential for long-term growth. The high turnover of top players also makes me question how committed they are to Africa’s future. Are these funds in it for the continent’s development, or just the quick returns? Maybe it's time to prioritize impact over sheer deal volume.

Axel Peyriere or Africa: The Big Deal do you know from which GIZ Project came these investments? Are we talking investments or grants? Thanks! : )

Is there perhaps a need to separate "investors" from other "financiers"? How would the list then look like? Second consideration: Are we celebrating no. entrepreneurs supported or the amount of capital .. which may be at risk of covering few but very big deals?
