🌿 Embracing Māori Values for a Sustainable Future 🌿 Kia ora koutou, I'm so pleased to have been accepted into the Energy Academy to work on the Global Energy Quest, from the support of Orion NZ Ltd, Northpower, Christchurch City Council, Canterbury Tech, Te Matarau - the Māori Tech Association, BusinessNZ, Young Energy Professionals Network (YEPN) NZ and Think Beyond Ltd In a world increasingly looking towards sustainable practices and equitable resource distribution, our recent group discussions have offered profound insights into how we can integrate traditional Māori values into our modern approaches. Our focus on pepeha has been pivotal in understanding and sharing mauri energy within our community, fostering a deep connection to our whakapapa, the whenua (land), and our collective aspirations for sustainability. As we welcomed a new member into our group today, the richness of our dialogue expanded, grounding us further in the principles that have guided Māori stewardship of the environment for generations. Through these discussions, we've been reminded of the critical role of interconnectedness between people and the natural world and how this perspective is essential in addressing today’s environmental challenges. Our journey is not just about looking back but also forging ahead with inclusive, innovative solutions rooted in the wisdom of those who have walked this land before us. In this spirit, Alimentary Systems seeks to explore how nature can have a voice on the board and uphold tino rangatiratanga. https://lnkd.in/gDd4tBN6 As we continue exploring and understanding Māori values in our work and personal lives, let’s remember the potential for positive change in the synergy of traditional knowledge and modern innovation. Let’s strive for a future where sustainability and equity are ideals and the foundations of our societal structures. Ngā mihi nui to all those committed to this journey of learning, sharing, and acting for the betterment of our planet and future generations as we evolve our understanding of Mātauranga Māori with Fraser Geary, Michael DCosta and Wim de Koning. I'll continue to share our progress, and continue to inspire one another. Together, we can make a difference. #Sustainability #MāoriValues #CircularEconomy #Innovation #Community

⚡🇵🇹 In 2002, #WEG, a global leader in electric motors and industrial solutions, made a critical strategic investment by establishing operations in Portugal. Over the years, this investment has solidified Portugal's position as a vital hub for producing medium and high-voltage explosion-proof electric motors, which are now manufactured exclusively in the country. 🌍 With a focus on innovation and global expansion, WEG Portugal plays a crucial role in the company's operations across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. The creation of the WEG Portugal Industrial Park—covering over 100,000 square metres—further strengthens the company's commitment to growth and advanced production capabilities. This industrial park includes a new HV Solutions Centre dedicated to manufacturing state-of-the-art high-voltage motors and incorporating cutting-edge research and development facilities. This investment has expanded WEG Portugal's footprint in Europe 🇪🇺 and reinforced Portugal's position 🇵🇹 as a critical player in the global industrial market. 🔗Read the full interview in Portugalglobal Magazine ⬇ https://lnkd.in/dkmvTvNK #InvestmentInPortugal #IndustrialInnovation #WEG #ElectricMotors #PortugalExpansion #GlobalLeadership #MadeInPortugal #BuyFromPortugal #BusinessMatchMaking #PortugalOpenForBusiness #AICEP

Today is the 17th of May, Norway’s national day, where we celebrate the constitution of 1814. 🥳 So, what does this have to do with #ChargingStations you ask? Well, it’s the day of the year where Recharge has the least customers at our chargers. Most people stay at home or in their neighborhood for the celebrations, so the need for fast charging is reduced. Luckily we charge a lot of cars during the rest of the year. During 2023 people charged their cars at Recharge stations across the Nordics 3.5 million times, of which 2.8 million were in Norway. Happy 17th of May! #ElectricVehicles #eMobility #EVcharging #Sustainability #Norway

Dear NESO, congratulations on the launch, your country needs you! Let's hope it means more LOW EMISSIONS UK gas when it says "changing our sources of gas will become an important part of reducing emissions". Extracts: "Gas is used in the vast majority – 87% – of UK homes for heating and hot water: around 22 million homes use it every day. But it’s not just for providing heat and hot water to our homes. Many businesses rely on a reliable supply of gas all year round for heat and to drive industrial processes that create jobs and deliver value to Great Britain’s economy." "Some of the gas we use in our system comes from Britain’s North Sea and it is brought into the country by pipeline. But most of the gas in this network of pipes is imported, either coming by ship from around the world, or through pipelines connected to our European neighbours." "The gas system is one of Great Britain’s largest infrastructure assets and the existing system provides employment and supports local economies. Whilst the transition to clean energy will mean we have to use fewer fossil fuels, gas is expected to remain as an important part of our energy landscape in the future. Emerging innovations like carbon capture and storage and changing our sources of gas will become an important part of reducing emissions associated with continued use of gas." https://lnkd.in/eqBGKWQd

Today, I want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible team in Spain and especially to Inma Cima our Country Manager, for their tireless work and vision in advancing Fastned's mission in Spain. 🚀 With construction already underway at our stations in El Garraf, Barcelona, we’re seeing the start of Fastned’s ultra-fast charging network in Spain, aiming for operation in 2025. Inma’s insights highlight our drive to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility – a goal we could reach faster if administrative processes were streamlined. While it only takes us four months to construct a station, the remaining time is spent navigating permits and authorizations. Addressing these delays could dramatically reduce the time it takes to bring EV charging infrastructure online. Fastned’s proposed solutions are powerful: creating a national power map, ensuring timely responses from distributors, setting clear timelines, and improving communication channels are just a few ways we’re pushing for efficiency. Inma and the team also advocate for immediate authorizations and a single channel for legalizations, ideas that could change the game for the sector. Big thanks to Inma and our Spain team for leading the way and setting a new standard in eMobility infrastructure! Their work is instrumental in making Fastned's vision for accessible, ultra-fast charging in Spain and across Europe a reality.
