💧 2024 Drinking Water Seminar Recap 💧 🎤 Thank You to Our Speaker Erica Wirski! 🎤 Shout out to Erica Wirski for her presentation, "Bolting the Wings While We Fly the Plane: Addressing Staffing Vulnerabilities, Emergency Upgrades, and Communication with Ratepayers for Small Systems"! Her talk highlighted the value of leading through vulnerability and using thoughtful strategies can help small systems overcome big challenges. Erica also highlighted some recent projects such as their filter pilot and the results from that study. Key wins included: 💧 Rebuilding public trust: After a boil water notice and system pressure failure, the district turned the tide on skepticism. Through open communication and dedicated improvements, the public now trusts the district to serve them and improve their community. 💼 Strengthened Board support: Engaging the Board of Directors with transparent updates and a clear vision earned their trust and enthusiastic backing for future capital efforts. 🔧 Improved O&M Culture: Proactive tools like an updated asset management registry and AIMS are driving smarter maintenance and system upgrades. It’s incredible to see how collaboration and commitment are transforming challenges into opportunities for growth! #SmallSystems #CommunityTrust #Leadership #Planning #PilotStudy #Filters
