Do your projects have an interface with the railway? Working near operational railways poses significant risks to construction works, the infrastructure, and railway operations. To ensure safe delivery, it's essential to understand the risks, safe working parameters and best practices when working adjacent to the railway. Understanding the Risks The railway adjacent to sites should be considered operational at all times and any overhead electrified equipment present is energised at 25kV. No plant, materials or equipment are to be placed in a position where in the event of accident, malfunction, or failure it could fall within 4 metres of railway boundary. Basic Asset Protection Agreement (BAPA) When working on or near the UK rail network, entering into a Basic Asset Protection Agreement (BAPA) with Network Rail is often necessary. Harcon Solutions can help you to cut through the jargon and railway standard processes to enable your project to progress. We hold extensive experience working within the ASPRO (Asset Protection) organisation, providing us with the expertise to help your construction projects navigate the complexities of interfacing with Network Rail and other key stakeholders. We offer the following support services: ☑️ Engineering Management: Leading the management of engineering processes to ensure safe delivery and compliance. ☑️ Construction Assurance: Providing assurance that construction meets the required regulations and Network Rail standards. ☑️ Full CDM Management: Handling all aspects of CDM management, from planning through to execution and completion. ☑️ Rail Interface Management: Acting as the Rail Interface Manager to coordinate between various parties, ensuring seamless communication and project progression. ☑️ Contract Administration: Overseeing contract administration to ensure all agreements and contractual requirements are met. ☑️ Risk Mitigation: Implementing strategies to mitigate risk throughout the project lifecycle. Navigating the complexities of working near operational railways requires expertise and meticulous planning. Our team is ready to provide the support and management necessary to ensure your project is delivered safely and successful. Contact us to learn more about how we can assist with your projects adjacent to the Network Rail managed infrastructure. 📧 [email protected] ☎️ 0800 310 2008 🖥️ www.harconsolutions.co.uk #harconsolutions #networkrail #TfW #TfL #HS2 #railway #infrastructure #construction #design #management #transport #supplychain #development #learnandgrow #collaboration #wales #economy #opportunities #challenges #assurance #safety #projects #RISQS #leadership #strategicpartnerofchoice

So the Danish ETCS rollout has been rescheduled (read: delayed) again. How big of a deal is that? It does show once again that planning for a really large project such as the resignalling of an entire country is prone to underestimation. Difficulties with retrofitment of rolling stock are normal, often enough due to issues to take operational rolling stock out of service on time and long enough for fitting and testing ETCS onboard equipment. And the addition of new projects which were not even on the horizon during the initial planning does not help with sticking to a timeline either. What is to hope for is that the commercial implications of this delay is not too severe. Because there is really not much of an alternative to seeing this through. https://lnkd.in/gYedH5FN #denmark #etcs #projectmanagement #docfrankrailservices
