I can confirm, cold calling is dead. Here's what it takes to book just ONE meeting: 1 Meeting 19 Connects (5.4% Connect Rate) 402 Dials (4.6% Set Rate) 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝟒𝟎𝟐 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝟏 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐥. But what about a top quartile rep? Let's see... 1 Meeting (13.3% Connect Rate) 8 Connects (16.7% Set Rate) 45 Cold Calls 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝟏 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬. But wait... there's more! When coupled with cold emails, cold calls DOUBLE YOUR EMAIL REPLY RATE, even when you don't connect. 1 hour per day. 1 meeting per hour. 2x the email replies. Not a bad deal. *** While the suck of cold calling never goes away... This book will give you everything it takes to become a top quartile dialer so that "the suck" of cold calling becomes worth it: 1️⃣ Every part of a cold call, step-by-step (with talk tracks) 2️⃣ Voiceovers (in QR codes) to master tone 3️⃣ Examples no matter what you sell 4️⃣ Backed by data from 300M+ cold calls on Gong (as seen above ) And when it's all laid out step-by-step... You'll find that it's not that hard to beat the average. 𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬. It drops on August 14th. Armand Farrokh This looks interesting. Also, what do you think about using any power/parallel dialer for outreach?
Incredible achievement! How much time did it take for you to sum up the whole experience? I'm considering something similar for myself, but with cold emails – also a tough nut to crack!
Cold calling is highly effective, often surpassing the results of emailing. In fact, I make cold calls while composing my emails. Those who dismiss cold calling as outdated simply lack the determination and patience required. In tough market conditions, cold callers thrive while others complain about insufficient marketing and web leads. Frankly, I hope this book isn’t published so that natural selection can take its course. My background in commission-based sales has ingrained in me a relentless drive, and I'm proud to maintain that focus. However, it's easy to lose this edge if you neglect your skills. Let the strong cold callers survive and the haters write books on how to get you spammed! I am excited to read this!
What industry is this towards - in logistics i'm connecting with a DM every 8-14 calls using Apollo.io - god help us if I had zoominfo
I wonder what your take is on the scaling problem. I assume the top rep is spending more time on research + qualification, so when she connects it is more likely to convert vs a random spray and pray method. But now she is spending 3x as much time on research as she was a few years ago. And combine that with a lower connect rate, you are experiencing exponential growth in the amount of admin work you have to do to book the same meeting. How do we help our reps scale and not burn out?
This is going to be sooo good.
Throughout my short sales career so far I've had the experience of running cold calls on my cell phone, a 3rd party dialer, and now through Salesloft. With each step up I've found that efficiency and effectiveness has improved due to the robustness of the tool and visibility improving. That said, I've learned that the art of running cold calls is largely a numbers game, but that the real magic happens when you have the right tools/information/coaching to improve that numbers game. As an avid reader/learner, I'm aways looking for ways to level up my cold call game and am looking forward to some take aways from this book! (Plus, as a current Lofter, it'll be insightful to see how Gong contributes to the narrative!)
Let’s goooooo! A book that doesn’t promise some magic solution other than “get good. Get tough.” Rare!
It's all about the numbers. Might as well enjoy it. Create a personal "pat on the back" per every #X of calls, treat yourself to sleeping in on a Saturday once you achieve #Y. These are added benefits above and beyond the already company standards that are set up per the job description.

6moYour average seller makes a couple dials, hits 6 voicemails, and gets their heart ripped out when the next prospect tells them to screw off… so they give up! Then, they disguise their fear and anxiety in behaviors like: - Complaining that cold calling is dead and no one answers the phone anymore - Spending hours over-researching prospects who haven’t even answered yet - Claiming it’s end of quarter so there’s no time to prospect - Following up with long-dead opportunities - Checking their inbox 20 times a day Cold calling DOESN'T work if you're NOT good. So if you want to get good...I *think* this book will help :)
