RENAULT 5E-TECH RETRO BUT ACTUAL (Thanks Renault). Yes, retro but actual. Launched few years ago (1972)!!!, sold in 13 years, more than 5 millions units worldwide. Today’s Reault 5, launched hours ago in Geneva International Motor Show, is an ev powered by a 150hp e-motor with 52kW/h battery (400km range WLTP) or 120hp with 40kW/h battery (300km range WLTP). Developed for the first time in a new platform (ampR) group, allows the use of large batteries . Also this new model arrives plenty of good design + a lot of security systems (active and passive). ¿My favorite colors? pop yellow or pop green (see the video) evoking first Renault 5 models. Last week I attended the biennial IAA Transportation exhibition in Hannover on 19th and 20th of September. With approximately 145,000 visitors and over 1,700 exhibitors, it was truly a playground for those of us in the transportation, logistics and related industries. Key Observations: ⚡ Hydrogen powered trucks were a checkbox every major producer had ticked at their booth; although electric trucks and their journey towards becoming the main transporters on the roads was a hotter topic in conversations. 🤖 Autonomous and semi-autonomous trucks could be spotted around the exhibition, more information on tests and their possible future on the European roads would have been welcome. 🛠 China and Turkiye seemed to have the strongest presence in secondary spare parts production. 🚛 Renault Trucks was missing from the exhibition, a shocking fact considering they are amongst the top 10 producers in the European Market. ❤️ Scania, MAN and Krone are my top picks for best booths with lively ambience and fun staff, while Iveco had won hearts with their special edition trucks for the Metallica band. #IAA #IAATransportation
