💚 This holiday season, in lieu of sending cards, we are giving back in a meaningful way by partnering with Fondazione Lab00 ETS - SpesaSospesa.org on the SpesaSospesa.org® project, built on the principles of #circularsolidarity.
Our contribution will provide 365 essential groceries to 2 families in need over the course of one year.
Beyond supporting those facing hardship, this initiative also plays a key role in combating #foodwaste, as the groceries include recovered food that would otherwise go to waste.
We are honored to be part of this effort, bringing hope and relief to many families this Christmas season 🎄 Small gestures, big impact ⭐

A special thanks to APPLiA - Home Appliance Europe for being part of the SpesaSospesa project supporters and for backing our Christmas campaign to help families in need. 🎄💙
The real difference comes from people and the speed with which they embrace new ideas. So: a special shout-out to Paolo Falcioni, Federica Lavoro, Maria Vittoria Sbrescia, and Mikela Mema for listening to our story and offering their generous support. 🙏✨

#1 in my (new!) series about Changemakers - sharing people/companies/organizations in and out of my network who are doing changemaking work**
I first met Kimberly Trouville Smith, CEO of Copia, while producing the 2023 Conscious Capitalism CEO Summit. Connected by another attendee, Kimberly asked us to donate all surplus food from the event through her company, Copia (which we did). Each year in the U.S., around 149 billion meals worth of food goes unsold or uneaten. Most of this ends up in landfills, where it emits methane, a greenhouse gas far more potent than CO2 and a major contributor to climate change. Copia's goal is to reduce food waste by creating networks and connections to move high quality, nourishing food and get it in the hands of those who need it most. As someone who is personally committed to reducing food waste and changing food systems (I sit on a local food pantry board and get huge dopamine hits whenever we rescue and redistribute food for our delighted community members), I LOVE this project.
Copia takes the hurdles that exist for moving food waste (liability, regulation, measurement, reporting) and makes the process seamless for donors and recipients, helping donor companies large and small track contributions and showcase their impact. Win, win, win.
Food waste and hunger are wildly complex issues that require a diversity of tactics to tackle. I appreciate that Kimberly and Copia are providing tangible, tactical ways for businesses of all sizes to play their part.
Bonus! Copia was listed as an "Inc. Best Place to Work 2023". My hope is we can be done with the days when businesses do good solely through products or services but are terrible to their people. Kudos to Kimberly for ringing both bells.
🍎 🍌 🥑 CTA: Follow Kimberly and Copia on LI and reach out if you’re in the US and in a position to donate surplus food waste or if you’re a nonprofit looking to receive food surplus.
**changemaker defined here as: someone who is taking creative action to solve a social problem for the greater good. A changemaker demonstrates that they are motivated to act and they remain tenacious in their efforts.

The Majority of HKG oils have been banned because they are made from very unstable oxidant & inflammatory fats.!
They have been banned because the decompose into harmful food products very quickly!
These harmful food products are responsible for the acceleration of NCDs like diverts, strokes, cardiovascular, cancer & chronic respiratory diseases.
One in ten die or 32+M people worldwide and three in ten can suffer from a NCD.
Hence a significant portion of the waste food needs to be composted or incorporated in a biological compost!
There are 144+ governments around the world begging you to switch to monounsaturated oils as they have the very opposite antioxidant and anti-inflammatory chemistry!
Every #caterer # every #listedcompany every #government kitchen #every#hospital, #School#QSR#kitchen feed the public including 🍆#HKJC, #FootballClub#cricket#tennis#Golf & #press enterprise must become responsible or pay for the #lives lost or #suffering!
It does not cost a penny or a dollar to switch, save 30% & upto 70% if you are a QSR as well as more cost reductions on variable expenses (staff, power, cleaning, waste), fixed costs( insurance, storage, filtration, compliance, marketing), intangible (ESG, loyalty, shareholders, government relationships) and importantly- save lives!
Please respond and ask everyone you meet - do you know much about the country’s request to SWITCH to healthier oils that have dramatically minimised heart and vascular diseases for 3,700 years in Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal!

It’s National #FoodWastePreventionWeek, and we are excited to share that Second Harvest is now a member of the Zero Food Waste Coalition! This group of non-profit organizations, cities, companies, and other entities are working to improve the food system at the federal, state, and local levels—and now we’re joining the effort.
We have been working hard at the food bank to reduce food loss and waste through our Zero Waste Certification. And now, by joining the Zero Food Waste Coalition, we are aiming to accelerate our progress and build momentum by partnering with other stakeholders across the food system.

In the '90s the milkman delivered orange juice. 🍊
Historians declared 'the end of history'.
How could things get any better?
It turns out things could get much worse, but milkmen largely skipped that bit. What they did during those lost decades is known only to a select few.
What we do know, however, is that the milkman is back with a bang, and they've got way more than milk & juice in their carts.
Leading the charge is The Modern Milkman, one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK.
↳ They're on a mission to offer sustainable, plastic-free products with maximum convenience to the widest possible audience.
🥳 I'm delighted to say that The Modern Milkman are supporting our Community Fridge Network to share food amongst communities and save food waste.
➡️ Refer a friend this month and The Modern Milkman will donate £5 to Hubbub. 🙏
➡️ And for the rest of this year, you can buy a virtual pint of milk with your regular order, and 95% will be donated to the Community Fridge Network.
Wondering what a Community Fridge is? 🤔
They’re spaces that bring people together to:
• Share food
• Save it from going to waste
• Connect and learn new skills
In partnership with Co-op the Community Fridge Network has grown to over 650 fridges across the UK.
↳ Last year they shared around 18 million meals' worth of food to over 600,000 visitors!
So be like my colleague Rosie Gordon Lennox - pictured - and pick up a virtual pint here: https://lnkd.in/d-sxHBkt 🥛
And thanks to Simon M. & his amazing team for bringing this to life. 🙌
(Disclaimer: the 'end of history' thing may not have been directly related to the orange juice. It's hard to remember the precise details).

It's time soon for #LessWasteMoreJoy! ♻️😜
We have the tech to fix the climate crisis, we just need to sort out the politics. Just like hunger; the problem isn't the lack of food, it's getting it to the people who need it most!
So what better place to explore the social and climate impacts of food waste than one of FareShare South West's #Bristol warehouses?
Their #BigGive challenge starts Tuesday 3rd December, and if you donate through their portal then their partners will DOUBLE it, so that's #doublethedifference! Find out more at in the comments.
🫵 Let me know in the comments what food you most frequently throw out?
For me it was bags of salad, till I started putting kitchen roll in the bag to make them IMMORTAL!

🌍 Announcing "Save Food" - A Food Waste Management App 🌍
I’m excited to share the concept of Save Food, an upcoming app that will revolutionize how we manage food waste. The idea is simple: if you have edible food left at home, in the office, or anywhere, you can enter your location into the app, and someone from a partnered organization will pick it up and deliver it to those in need.
Save Food aims to create an easy and efficient way to reduce food waste and provide for those who need it most. We believe that no meal should go to waste when millions of people are struggling with hunger.
🍽️ How It Works:
✅ Enter your location when you have leftover food
✅ A partnered organization will pick up the food
✅ The food will be delivered to those in need
✅ Helping both the planet and the people in need
We’re seeking partnerships with organizations (Brother's Brother Foundation ), donors, and volunteers to bring this vision to life. Together, we can create a network that turns surplus food into life-saving meals.
If you’re interested in collaborating, donating, or simply learning more, feel free to reach out. Let’s work together to build a future where no food is wasted, and no one goes hungry.

333.3 million people in the United States, home to fortune 500 companies, 1000s working to reduce hunger in the country. Still in 2022, 44 million people experienced food insecurity in the U.S., while roughly 38% of food went unsold or uneaten, according to ReFED.
Some people might feel that the numbers are incorrect, ignore them, or be preoccupied with other societal issues. However, on average, Americans squander roughly 60 million tons of food.
I came across this amazing startup by Abhi Ramesh i.e. Misfits Market working to fight food waste. They work directly with farmers and artisans to rescue organic produce and other supermarket goods that would otherwise go to waste and bring them to your door—all while passing on the savings to you. Every Misfits Market box you order helps farmers, reduces food waste, and ultimately saves our environment.
Check out their page and read about their initiatives below. Also, please share with me any other companies you observe doing an excellent job fighting food waste.
