I read numerous posts from recruiters regarding freelance content writers. Freelance writers do not complete any assignments after applying for the position. The recruiter believes they are not serious about the position. But what about those recruiters who gave assignments without payment, and when we, as writers, submit them, they simply vanish? No matter how many times you follow up with them, there is no response... I have no idea how many sample assignments I have written from the last three months. Most recruiters don't bother to respond with a YES or NO. If you are serious about hiring, only then give assignments to write on. 🙏🙏 What are your thoughts about it? 🤔 #freelancecontentwriter #contentwriter #sampleassignment

I have an editor friend at a large media company. She hires a lot (A LOT) of freelance writers, primarily through LinkedIn. I asked her these questions (a month or so ago)... On average, how many candidates do you get for a call for freelance writers? ✳ 100-200. No surprise here. Every quality call for writers attracts hundreds of applicants. How many are qualified? ✳ Roughly 10%. She noted that many of the "unqualified" individuals are good writers, but don't have experience in her desired niche (entertainment, travel, and culture). What's the one thing a person can do to stand out from the crowd? ✳ Follow directions. Make a clear and concise pitch. Share one thing that makes them a better choice than other writers. Do you hire solely in the U.S. or are you open to global writers? ✳ I like her answer to this question. Not only does she hire writers from all over the world, but the pay rate is the same regardless of location. This is important to me. No two hiring parties share the same approach, but this should provide you with some insight into how one editor tackles the process. *** I'm scheduled to chat with the same editor this weekend. Primary keywords will be given, the writer is expected to integrate them in the blogs. Deliverables: 9 blogs (500-600 words) on entertainment industry. TAT: 3-4 days should be enough? Pay: You quote, I'll take an approval from the client & let you know. (The payscale is on the lower end) Experience: The gig is suited for beginners. Anyone who knows basic content writing & can write in simple English will be able to deliver. PS. They payment will be made after the deliverables are complete (sorry - company policy.) Also, this can be a retainer thing if you meet the requirements. Minimum 10 articles needed every month. Here's hoping doggo picture will get me some reach! He's Kaju btw.

Experience matters, but...... how you spend that time matters more! Consider this: Freelancer A: 9-5 job + freelance writing (8 hrs/week) ✍️ Freelancer B: Full-time freelance writer (8 hrs/day) ✍️ Who do you think honed their skills more in a year? Probably B, right? Years aren't the only measure. Look for: Dedicated Hours: The number of hours actively spent crafting their craft. ⏳ Passion & Focus: Does their portfolio showcase dedication and consistent improvement? Skillset & Results: Do their skills align with your needs and can they deliver proven results? Let's redefine "experience" and hire based on effort, not just years. #webdevelopment #branddesign #ITservices #growth
