I recently had a wonderful trip to Korea, spending time with our talented colleagues at the beautifully renovated Aon office in Seoul. This trip was also an opportunity to attend our Aon Insight Series event, and to speak with clients and industry leaders on how Aon is helping them navigate the Risk and People issues they are facing. A huge thank you to Kevin Kim and the entire Aon Korea team for the very warm welcome. I am looking forward to my next visit! #AISAsia2024 #BetterDecisions #AonAsiaPacific

And now looking ahead, here's a very special event, part of an ongoing GLOBAL TRADE series, "live" in London 23 April, being presented in-person inside hq of the global trade bank HSBC, Canary Wharf financial center ... here's the agenda layout https://lnkd.in/gxZiNxYT. Note: This event will NOT be televised "live". BackStory: About 3 years ago I was quietly invited to be involved in developing/creating and producing and being Moderator of a unique vehicle for communicating business strategy/tactics for a business audience connected with "global trade", essentially "global talent development". And so it began; my mission was to think big, utilize my contacts connections and combine with those of the England-based Andrew Elliman, European Head of Business Development- AGS Worldwide. A blessing! I was introduced to Kulvinder, an executive inside HSBC having a unique portfolio. So it began; we became "3 amigos". Ideas flowed, some "stuck" while others vaporized but I never ever thought about "being Don Quixote". May 9'23 was an in-person workshop presented inside HSBC hq Canary Wharf followed by PubCrawl. Yes, it all worked! I was invited to do it again; a date was set for Dec 7'23, same venue, but a different iteration. It happened... and in the words of a cosponsor, she called it "just wonderful"! Edition #3 will happen April 23 inside HSBC hq. Yes, it will be "cutting-edge", indeed going beyond. Register, be with us in London. But note, seating is being restricted to ensure a very highly-interactive workshop atmosphere. Become a cosponsor and "show" your logo/message to a global business audience. Contact me quickly to discuss things and thank you for considering ... regards and sincerely, Ed [email protected] #globalHRbusiness, #globalbusinessnews, #globalrelocationnews, #globalHRnews, #globaltvtalkshow, #globalbusinessIQ, #mediaprep, #globalpressclub, #mediatraining, #publicspeaking, #CHRO, #HRBP #relocationguide

CMHAA's Thriving from the Start Network recently ran a webinar in collaboration with Transitioning Well on Career Adaptability, that is, the skills, attitudes, and behaviours that enable us to proactively respond to challenges, changes and opportunities in our careers. Research shows that those with higher career adaptability have greater career satisfaction and personal wellbeing. In our recent webinar we learnt that career adaptability can be strengthened and developed by practicing each of its 4 domains: *Planning *Curiosity *Confidence *Control In this video series we asked some of the senior leaders, of member organisations of CMHAA, how they practice each of the domains of career adaptability. The first one is focused on planning. 🌟 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🌟 Yesterday I had the opportunity to listen to three fantastic speakers on the challenges and opportunities in #recruitment and #retention within the insurance industry. A huge thank you to Young Insurance Professionals of Toronto (YIPT) for putting this event together, and to the brilliant speakers for sharing their expertise: 🎤Blake DeClark, CPA, CGA, H.B.Comm.- Senior Manager Williams Meaden & Moore Inc. 🎤Patricia Chiodo, CHRP - AVP, HR at Burns & Wilcox Canada 🎤Rob Marsh - President of Liberty Mutual Canada Here are some key takeaways that resonate across the board 💡 : 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬: The industry is facing a major talent gap, and with shorter job tenures among younger generations, finding and keeping the right talent is more challenging than ever. 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Recruitment is only half the battle—creating a culture of growth and development is critical to keeping top talent engaged and motivated long-term. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Employees want to feel appreciated and motivated. Building an inclusive and supportive environment is key to fostering satisfaction and loyalty. 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬: Traditional job boards alone won’t cut it. Leveraging LinkedIn, word-of-mouth, and employee advocacy can make a huge difference in reaching the right candidates. 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬: Different generations have different career expectations. It's vital for leaders to adapt and tailor their strategies to attract and retain a multigenerational workforce. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩’𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞: Leaders play a pivotal role in creating environments where employees feel valued, heard, and given opportunities to grow. #YIPT #Insurance #InsuranceProfessionals #TalentRetention #BuildingTheFuture #ClosingtheGap #DEI #SpeakerPanel

Have you heard about the #PwCMyths ? 🤔 Let's uncover the realities of consultant life! 💻💼 It's often assumed that consultants are always on the go and have little time for themselves. However, in recent years, our consultant work routine has evolved significantly. We increasingly work remotely and conduct many meetings, including with clients, online. Of course, we still value face-to-face meetings and the opportunity to get in touch with clients directly, but the traditional on-site presence from Tuesday to Thursday has become less common ✈. Furthermore, flexible working hours, as practiced at #PwC, allow us to organise our day according to our individual needs. This means that we can attend important personal appointments or pursue our favourite sports 🧘♀️. And remember: Consultants are not lone warriors! We are the #communityofsolvers - we collaborate closely with our teams to support each other and and share tasks efficiently 💪. Let's together dispel the myths surrounding the life of a consultant and celebrate the diversity and flexibility of this exciting profession!

I make one thing very clear to all new joiners from Day 1.. Your perspective matters. Fresh eyes often see what those entrenched in the day-to-day might miss. New employees bring more than just skills; they bring new ways of thinking, fresh approaches, and different experiences that can spark innovation. Far too often, employers squander the precious resource of fresh eyes made available to them with each and every hire. Part of Guidepoint's success stems from our DNA of embracing new ideas and fostering a culture where every voice is heard and valued. We empower new talent to contribute meaningfully from day one to unlock the true potential of our teams. It's my strong belief that if we capitalize on the unique perspectives of our diverse team members, we ensure that we’re not just keeping up with change - we’re leading it. I look forward to the contributions of María Escarda Granados, Wissam Hafez, and Mahnoor Babar - three exceptional professionals forming part of our most recent intake of new talent at Guidepoint Middle East. #NewPerspectives #TeamCulture #Innovation #Growth

Super excited to have attended the Aon Rewards and Talent Conference 2024, themed "Better Decisions for the Workforce of Tomorrow." Some of the key takeaways: - Breadth of Competencies: Preparing for the jobs of the future requires a broad range of skills. Emphasizing diverse job roles and building multiple competencies will better equip organizations to address future talent challenges. - Domain vs. Functional Specialization: As talent demands evolve, domain specialization is becoming increasingly important compared to traditional functional specialization. - Tailored EVP Statements: Organizations need to ensure their Employee Value Proposition (EVP) statements resonate with the various archetypes within their workforce. - Cross-Functional Expertise: Future roles will increasingly demand cross-functional and interdisciplinary expertise, reflecting the changing nature of work. Glad that many of these strategies are already being organically implemented at #Credable. Looking forward to continue our focus on key talent strategies which align well with the emerging trends discussed at the conference. On a personal note, it was a pleasant surprise to run into a friend I’ve been wanting to catch up with for a long time. #AonConference2024 #FutureOfWork #TalentStrategy #WorkforceTransformation
