Have you ever wondered how Bitcoin could scale to support millions of transactions without compromising on decentralization or security? Zero-knowledge (zk) proofs may hold the key. In July, we saw two major breakthroughs in scaling Bitcoin with zk proofs. StarkWare demonstrated a zk verifier on Bitcoin's Signet testnet, while teams behind BitcoinOS and BitVMX verified proofs on Bitcoin mainnet. Both use BitVM, allowing Turing-complete smart contracts on Bitcoin.

Bitcoin’s price matters because it directly impacts the network’s security and stability. A higher price boosts liquidity, reduces volatility, and sends a positive market signal. As a scarce asset designed to counter the infinite supply of fiat money, its value must rise with increasing fiat to maintain relevance. This shows that Bitcoin’s rising value strengthens the network’s long-term security. A higher price keeps miners incentivized, enhancing the network’s resilience as block subsidies decrease. It also legitimizes Bitcoin, attracting investors and motivating holders to support and protect the network.
