A second edition is really needed
Leadership & Strategy in Games and Cross-Platform Entertainment • Philosophy & Tools • Founder of Mad Crusader
Back in January 2021, we teamed up with Alexei Zhurba, Alex Pollackov, Anna Boyarkina and Artem Z. to map out the trends set to shape entertainment, media, and IT in the 2020s. The document has aged well, and by January 2025, it feels like the perfect time for a second edition.

This is one of the best keynote speeches I've ever seen. Here's 7 things Jack Conte did so well in his SXSW talk "The Death of the Follower": (so you can make your next onstage appearance more powerful and memorable) 1. The TITLE - "DEATH." Grabs your eyeballs, doesn't it? - "FOLLOWER." At a tech/arts festival? Sold. 2. Started with his STORY - Seeing young musician Jack, with pictures of his shitty bedroom studio, turns him from famous CEO to relatable dude, whose success you now root for. 3. He made "the History of the Internet" SIMPLE for his audience (artists) - Instead of describing the mechanics of Web 1, Web 2 etc, he kept it SUPER high level and explained what it meant for creators 4. His SLIDES were minimal - A couple words, a picture, a screenshot, or a simple diagram. All you need. 5. He positioned himself as ONE OF US (artists) - Numerous times, he mentioned his artistic background, his identity as a creator, and how he wants the internet to work for artists. He's barely a tech CEO in this talk. 6. He's UNPOLISHED. - This guy was umm-ing and ahh-ing all over the place, stumbling, and drinking water constantly. Nobody cares, because: 7. He's PASSIONATE. - Whether you believe he's giving a keynote with ZERO self-interest or not, the passion he shows makes you feel like he would give this talk anyway. Many of the YT comments mention the word "passion." There's so much more I could say, but watch the talk for yourself, and tell me: Did you like it? Why or why not? Let me know in the comments! Trust me, you'll get a lot out of this talk. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gxzchFue
