How can you turn conversations into clients effortlessly? That’s the whole goal and tagline behind Tom Martin’s agency, Converse Digital. In a recent episode of Sell With Authority, Tom came on the podcast to share how he’s able to turn conversations into clients with content and confidence. By creating content that shows he’s an expert in what he does, clients already know before they even pick up the phone that he knows what he’s talking about. I’m telling you, when you lead with valuable content, you’re not selling — you’re closing loops, answering questions, and making your audience feel comfortable. Candidly — it’s about building trust through sharing your expertise and having the confidence to deliver on that. Now’s the time to double down on turning conversations into clients. Check the first comment for a link to the full episode. Onward with gusto!

Marketers today have an incredible advantage that the marketers of the Mad Men Era did not have: direct feedback from ideal customers for free, on-demand. I wrote about in this in my book Founder Brand, and it’s something we do every single day with Exit Five. We are looking for signals from our social media posts, comments, DMs, email replies, Q&A during our webinars, messages from our podcast listeners. Great marketing is about simply delivering the content your customers want in the channels where they are already spending their time. And they literally give you the answers and tell you what they want, what they need, and how you can help. Master the feedback loop. The best marketers today know how to do this at scale. And it’s the thing that fuels our whole business at Exit Five. Clip is from our Exit Five podcast "Inside Exit Five" with my business partner and COO Dan Murphy if you want to find it.

ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) focus might be the most important lever you can pull as a company. Too often though ICP gets diluted into a bland/passionless marketing exercise, and the resulting ICP is too wide. Why? B/c nobody wants to say "no" to a prospect segment that wants to give them money. This episode of UserEvidence's Proof Point podcast was fire - three of my favorite people in GTM - Jarod Greene, Adam Schoenfeld, Trinity Nguyen💎 take it to the next level in talking about a more nuanced interpretation of ICP, and how to drive disciplined focus and alignment on ICP across the company.
