I’ve been thinking a lot about something I saw posted a couple of times around 4/20. The posts proclaimed 4/20 is dying and some were even trying to equate that to cannabis culture dying as well. In my opinion, a big part of cannabis culture is counter culture. 4/20 thrived prior to legalization because it was an event where we all gathered to protest that cannabis was illegal. We all came together and blew plumes so big that no one could stop us, not even the man, man. So now that legalization has occurred it makes sense that events like 4/20 would fizzle out because there’s no need to stick it to the man and protest for the plant in that same way. This doesn’t mean cannabis culture is dead, it means it’s shifted. Even I thought I could hang up my advocacy hat after legalization but what we all realized is there’s still work to do as far as advocacy goes - but maybe standing on parliaments door smoking a fatty isn’t the best way to harness our collective plant power. 4/20 was part of cannabis culture but it wasn’t the whole culture. Advocacy for the plant is where it always stemmed from and we’re all just realizing we’re playing a different game with different rules. The under educated government is now heavily involved and we need to shift our advocacy to other channels and because of this the counter culture influenced advocacy is much more nuanced. I promise you cannabis culture is alive and well. Those that used to advocate on the lawns of parliament are out there advocating is other ways now. We see it every day in this industry, not just on 4/20 - so I would argue the culture is actually thriving 24/O7 (see what I did there - there’s still a 420 - it just looks a little different now). Everytime we post on Instagram without spelling it c@nn@b!s or show images of actual flower instead of a green vegetable - Everytime we light up at a family BBQ even if our relatives turn up their noses - Everytime we lobby for change and celebrate that change, even if it’s small because we did that! And we will keep doing it until it’s finally right, we won’t give up - Cannabis culture is pumping through my feed all day every day! Thanks for listening to the thoughts that have been rumbling inside my brain since 4/20. #CANNABIS #DontSayGarden #ItsNotBroccoli #CannabisCulture #SmokeWeedEveryday

Interesting to see Trump now firmly supporting cannabis reform. Some thoughts below and why this is the case and what it could mean….
🌱 Trump’s Cannabis Strategy: A 2024 Political Shift? Donald Trump’s recent endorsement of cannabis legalization in Florida signals a strategic shift within the GOP. This move is designed to appeal to libertarians and independents, especially as cannabis reform gains widespread support. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris’s record on cannabis, with her past convictions as California Attorney General, contrasts sharply with Trump’s evolving stance. Read how this could reshape the political landscape heading into the 2024 election 👉 https://lnkd.in/euZRzkgG #Cannabis #Politics #2024Election #GOP #DrugPolicy #Libertarian

🐝Why Proper Public Consumption Matters: A Ganjier’s Perspective 🐝 Hey cannabis community! As a certified Ganjier, I’ve seen firsthand how crucial it is for us to not only enjoy cannabis responsibly but to also advocate for its respectful use in public spaces. 🍯 Here’s why proper public consumption is so important and why it goes beyond just showing up at your legislative meetings. Respecting the Community: Cannabis is still a new frontier in many places, and public perception matters. Responsible consumption helps in showcasing our respect for diverse viewpoints and makes it easier for communities to accept and embrace our culture. Setting a Positive Example: We have a unique opportunity to set a precedent for how cannabis can be integrated into daily life. By consuming responsibly in public, we demonstrate maturity and mindfulness, paving the way for more acceptance and understanding. Advocacy in Action: Advocacy isn’t just about attending meetings or signing petitions. It’s about living our values every day. Proper public consumption is a way to actively contribute to the cause and show that we care about our community’s well-being. Building Trust with Legislators: When we demonstrate responsible behavior, it reinforces our commitment to creating a positive environment for cannabis use. This trust can be invaluable when it comes to influencing policy and making sure our voices are heard in legislative discussions. Educating the Public: By practicing proper public consumption, we help educate those around us. People become more informed and less apprehensive about cannabis, which can lead to more informed opinions and less stigma. In short, being a responsible consumer is just as important as lobbying for change. It’s a way of showing that we’re not just about the enjoyment of cannabis, but also about fostering a respectful and inclusive culture. Let’s put in the work, not just in our meetings, but in our daily actions. Stay mindful, stay respectful, and let’s work together to build a better future for the cannabis community. 🌟 #CannabisCommunity #PublicConsumption #ResponsibleUse #Ganjier #CannabisAdvocacy

🌿 Let’s Talk! 🌿 Today, we're excited to bring you another thought-provoking segment of "Let's Talk," where we explore crucial cannabis topics brought to you by LeVar, CEO of @blurok_farms. This week, let’s talk about the importance of expungement for cannabis convictions. Despite the growing legalization of cannabis, many individuals still suffer the long-term consequences of past convictions. These records can significantly impact job prospects, housing opportunities, and overall quality of life. Expungement is the process of legally erasing a criminal record. For those with cannabis convictions, this can be a game-changer. Here’s why it’s critical: Restoring Opportunities: Expungement can open doors to employment, education, and housing that were previously closed due to a criminal record. Economic Impact: Removing these records helps individuals re-enter the workforce and contribute to the economy, reducing reliance on social services. Addressing Injustice: Many cannabis convictions were a result of the War on Drugs, which disproportionately targeted Black and Brown communities. Expungement is a step towards rectifying these historical injustices. Mental Health: Clearing a criminal record can alleviate the stress and stigma associated with past convictions, leading to better mental health outcomes. Despite the benefits, the expungement process can be complicated and inaccessible for many. We need to advocate for streamlined, automated expungement processes that make it easier for individuals to clear their records. At BluRok Farm, we believe in the power of a second chance. Let’s work together to push for policies that support expungement and create a more just and equitable society. Let’s talk!!! 🌱💬 #LetsTalk #Wisdom #Expungement #CannabisJustice #BIPOCinCannabis #BluRokFarm #BluRokFam Stay tuned for more insightful discussions in our "Let's Talk" series! 🚀🌱

This is how policy changes are set into motion, not through social media posts. If you want policy reform you have to show up. You have to put yourself and your voice in front of the people who can make those changes. I am proud of the Women's Cannabis Chamber of Commerce members like Angelita Green, and Luna Stower, who are "walking the talk" on the state and national level. #policyreform #womencultivtingsuccess #ncialobbydays #marijuanareform #cannabislegalization https://lnkd.in/gqSaxT6B
