Today I am feeling nostalgic for the Sunday paper. Remember the novelty? This paper hosted the biggest stories, the funniest funnies, and the best puzzles. It also exhibited the most important letters to the editor. In my opinion, letters to the editor are a massively underused tool to communicate ideas or concerns among our communities – especially to reach over generational divides. I've used it several times over the past few years to express my own concerns about quality of life and local decision-making. I was always moved by how many unlikely allies I found. While the novelty of "the paper" may seem like a thing of the past, it's worthy to note that a significant proportion of the voting population still gets that paper, or at least access it online. And many of these people don't hang out on social media. Know a person, community, or advocacy group that wants to promote visibility for their cause?
