BigTech is moving towards vertical integration of #AI chips + cloud + #AI models it seems. Today with Amazon announcements at AWS re:Invent 2024 its becoming clear they all want to go for the land grab. Already... • NVIDIA: Already combines custom chips (GPUs), software frameworks (CUDA), and cloud infrastructure partnerships to control much of the AI ecosystem. • Google: Its Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) are integrated with Google Cloud and used for its AI models • Tesla: Vertical integration in AI is evident in Tesla’s Dojo supercomputer, which aligns hardware, software, and data for autonomous driving AI and other apps now Amazon wants its next-generation custom chips, Graviton4 and Trainium2 to combine with its new Nova models (+Anthropic) with its full set of AWS offerings. The Amazon Nova family includes six AI models handling tasks from text creation to video generation. Amazon also claims they have about 1,000 #GenAI applications in motion.
All biggies will have their own chips now!
