I’ve been thinking a lot about how we might charge for “service as a software” products in the future. I predict packaging and pricing for these products to actually start looking a lot more like how we charge for human labor — T&M, consulting fees, maybe eventually even some version of a regular salary based on complexity of computation or job to be done. Curious to know your thoughts. #ai #design #productmanagement #business #strategy

Even services seem less about time and materials and more about the output. Value-Based pricing seems like the future. Which means people will need to get real about the ROI of what they're buying.

I think consumption based pricing models will become very popular

Similar thoughts re: value-based pricing, but you're right - it's hard to quantify, especially if you're not able to use an easy-to-understand rubric like price per user.

Value-based pricing could emerge." Rather than focusing on the cost of development, pricing could be based on the value that the software provides to the customer. Almitra Inocencio
