SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE MONDAY OCTOBER 21, 2024BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETSTEXT: MATTHEW 24:22-25Key Verse: "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" (Matthew 24:24).To be false is to do things completely wrong and untrue. The Bible is bringing to our knowledge that as we journey in life and approach the end of the world, many people will come up with different fake things, and this includes pretending to be Jesus. All over the world now, we have people who pretend to be Christians and men of God, even when they are not. A lot of people have turned the Bible upside down and are preaching false doctrine. Many of them are using the power of the devil to perform signs and wonders, and a lot of Christians are being deceived. Sadly, this will only increase as we get to the end of the world. The way to escape from being a victim of false prophets and teachers is to know Jesus personally through repentance, and spend time with His word and His people. Also, go out and preach the real truth of God's word, so that you can save a lot of people from falling victims of false prophets.Prayer: Lord, keep me by your power, and help me not to fall a victim of false prophets.Further Reading: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15https://dailymanna.app//

How To Overcome Temptation (1) In Scripture, Satan is called ‘the tempter’ and ‘the accuser’. First, he will tempt you, and when you fail, he will accuse you. He wants you to feel unworthy and disqualified in God’s eyes. But you’re not! ‘We do not have a high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet He did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need’ (Hebrews 4:15-16). When you fail, you can go to God with confidence, knowing He will not only forgive you but provide the enabling grace to help you overcome temptation next time. We all face temptation; it’s an unavoidable part of life. Even believers who have walked with the Lord for many years deal with it. Their areas of temptation may be different from yours, but Satan doesn’t give anyone a free pass. But, you can overcome temptation. One of the first steps to conquering it is to start saying the right thing. The Bible says, ‘Words can bring death or life! Talk too much, and you will eat everything you say’ (Proverbs 18:21). Your words give life to what you say. So, start speaking God’s word. Jesus said, ‘I give you the authority…over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you’ (Luke 10:19). Claim that promise today; for what God promises, He will give you the strength to perform. The Word For Today by #UCB

The Word Of God Hebrews 4:12-14 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. The Bible is the most amazing book ever written. God used human beings to record His thoughts and words in writing so that others could know Him (2 Pet. 1:20-21). The One who spoke the universe into existence still speaks just as powerfully through the pages of the Bible that you hold in your hands. At the moment of salvation, believers receive the Holy Spirit, and lines of communication with the Lord are established. Then, whenever the Scriptures are read, children of God can hear His voice, and the Spirit enables them to understand and put into practice what they have heard. The Bible isn’t just a good book that’s filled with comforting words; Scripture is effective and always achieves God’s purpose (Isa. 55:10-11). Today’s passage describes it as “active and alive,” and 1 Thessalonians 2:13 tells us the Word of God is “at work in you who believe.” This book has the power to change our life if we will believe the Lord and do what He says. God uses the Bible to transform us from the inside out. Before reading Scripture, ask Him to help you hear and understand what He’s saying. As you believe and obey, your spiritual hearing will become more acute, and your time in the Word will become an intimate conversation with the Lord.
