"S&P now projects that gender parity at the C-suite level for U.S. companies won’t happen until somewhere between 2055 to 2072. That’s five to seven years later than researchers had previously projected before the slowdown." – From yesterday's Washington Post (article linked in comments) Well, this is disappointing. And not surprising. LEADERS: don't bury your DEI initiatives because it's no longer "trendy." Good business isn't trendy, and study after study shows that women in leadership is GOOD for business. Don't believe me? As the HBR article linked here states: "Research has shown that firms with more women in senior positions are more profitable, more socially responsible, and provide safer, higher-quality customer experiences — among many other benefits." What are you seeing at your organization? Is it continuing to invest in DEI initiatives? Is there open discussion about the need for greater diversity at the top? If not, what can you do to ensure it remains a focus so you don't miss the opportunity to cultivate a significant advantage? #womeninleadership #DEI #womenexecutives https://lnkd.in/eDGgJFr7

The fight continues. "In addition, prior research suggests that female executives are likely to care less about tradition and are more open to challenging the status quo than their male counterparts. Behavioral psychology has found that these sorts of attitudes fundamentally increase others’ receptiveness to change, and so it would make sense that as more women are appointed to executive teams, it could trigger more open-mindedness in existing Top Management Teams members" Change triggers And breeds innovation Stay the course y'all

I saw this earlier and was horrified. Really? Nearly 50 years for parity. That is gross. We need help at all levels and one of the organizations that impresses me the most is Vote Run Lead. If you want to make a difference, let's get more women into office at the local level so that they help influence/make policy decisions that are more friendly to women. We needed to start yesterday so I'm glad there is an organization out there that is focused on this. They just got $$ from Mackenzie Scott but they can always use more support!

These rooms need us, but my goodness is it hard to be in these rooms.
