It’s almost coronation day it’s almost coronation day!! 🙌 Building and launching a successful community requires time, planning, patience and the right team. Here are the steps the CustomerX early adopter Connectors have been working on since early 2024. Thank you ALL - you know who you are!!!!! 👂 Defining the Purpose and the Audience. What type of events what type of engagement. 👩💻 Choose the Right Platform. Finding out what limitations Slack had and how and what we wanted to do from an engagement perspective and fitting the platform to that strategy. Strategy came first. ✍ Create Compelling Content. Luckily, we had a lot of content from past years CustomerXCon conferences, our industry, experts creating content, and the current phase we are in is community curated content is being added. 🎉 Promote Community. Every early adopter updated their LinkedIn profiles. We are adding in handraisers to join the early adopters - more and more promotion around the new relaunch to come!!! 🤝 Facilitate Engagement. Structure is in place for a welcoming and inclusive environment where members feel valued and heard. We will be encouraging interaction through discussions, Q&A sessions, challenges, and networking opportunities. some have already begun with the early adopters. ⏲ Provide Value. This will be achieved with the various networking, engagement, and resources that was built from the original strategy set out and step number one. 👩🔧 Listen and Adapt: We will be listening, to the types of events, types of content and frequency of opportunities and events. Buckle up and share your voice! This is YOUR community. The goal is to be dedicated to the success of your community not just build it and they will come. I often get questions like, "Hey Anushka, you’ve got some cool swags! How do you always manage to get them?"🤔 Well, here’s a little secret about it:- Whether it’s an online event or in-person, it’s not about just showing up. It’s about engagement and making active and valuable contributions.✨ Don’t just rush to the booths or chatrooms asking for freebies, rather you should start real conversations with the reps, share feedback, offer insights on their products, and attend their workshops carefully, show interest in what they're doing, participate in surveys. If it's a virtual event, avoid spamming the chat box with requests like, “Can I get this swag?” instead ask questions related to that session.🧑💻 When you actively participate, the magic happens. People will notice your enthusiasm and that you've genuinely engaged, and that’s when the cool, exclusive swag comes in. Note: If you get swag for free without any effort, you might not appreciate its value. Swag should be earned. When you engage and connect, it gives you a special feeling, like you truly deserve what you receive. In the past few years, I've acquired limited edition gear, VIP invites, and software subscriptions. Even I've received swag from the US, UK, Italy, and various other countries, all the way to India, at my doorstep! Bonus Tip: Always send a thank-you note afterward. Slack went from $0 to $1 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 in just two years, thanks in large part to #feedback. As Fast Company put it: "If there’s one theme that emerges when founder Stewart Butterfield talks about Slack’s success, it’s that the company made customer feedback the epicenter of its efforts." This is just one example of many showing that while the idea of a single creative genius sparking innovation still captures our attention, 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is what should truly inspire us. Consider feedback from market and behavioral shifts, insights from potential and current customers, and expertise from the subject matter experts working on the product. Scott Stafford here, enjoying the last of the beautiful summer sunsets as fall approaches. I wanted to share something special that's been happening in my life. I’ve been participating in the Get Fit for Dreamforce 2024 walking challenge, and I’m really excited about the growth and connection I’ve experienced with my team, Codey. In the last few days, something even more meaningful happened. I’ve built relationships with two members from opposing teams—Magon Mair from Team Astro and Sandra Prieto, M.A. 🧡 from Team Cloudy. Together, we’ve committed to supporting one another in a new challenge: hitting 12,000 steps by noon. It’s such a joy to be part of an ecosystem where even competitors come together to uplift, support, and form deep connections that lead to important conversations capable of changing lives. As we gear up for Salesforce’s Dreamforce, I encourage everyone in the ecosystem to focus not just on the event, but also on building lasting relationships. Check in with someone, be a person they can LEAN on, and open up about the tougher things in life. Who knew how powerful it would feel creating a new company wide Slack channel... ✊ Some context, up to this point I've not worked for a company that uses Slack, so it's a whole new world. A bright one at that. When joining Dealfront and logging into Slack for the first time I was presented with a selection of non-work related channels created based on hobbies, interests, and even situation/life stage (parents). I was surprised, nay shocked, that there wasn't a channel for gym goers or runners. I know, I know. Utter shock 😲 So, I went and created 2 brand new channels for just that. Just in time for Dealfront's annual Teamweek which is coming up very soon, where I'm hoping to organise a morning run around Karlsruhe and maybe even an early morning gym session. Let's see if we can make it happen - taking inspiration from Laura Erdem and Dreamdata's runs at events 🏃♂️ P.S. This whole new Slack thing reminded me of a chat I had with Heather Leo at Chili Piper, who told me about some of the channels they had internally, which of course I used as inspiration! 🌶 #remotework #marketing #slack
