Our team recently completed an incredible journey across Sweden, visiting key cities like Stockholm, Karlstad, Gothenburg, and Malmö. 🇸🇪 It wasn’t just about the kilometers traveled—2210 km to be exact—but about the relationships built and the valuable insights gained from 53 face-to-face meetings. 🤝 A few key takeaways: 🔷 Swedish companies thrive within interconnected ecosystems and are passionate about maintaining entrepreneurial spirit. 🔷Traditional methods can sometimes outperform new trends in sales and visibility. 🔷Nothing beats the power of in-person connections to grow visibility and foster long-term relationships. Walking down memory lane.... Just found this online about my past business in Buenos Aires, Argentina: Garufa B&B. And while 18 years have passed, what has never changed is my love for - providing outstanding service to my clients (like excellent breakfast and tourist orientation upon arrival) - bringing a unique approach off the beaten path to anyone that's adventurous enough (like secret tango spots in remote neighborhoods, the best flavor of San Telmo, and the best milongas to dance at, depending on your personal preferences) - being by your side in challenging times (like after being robbed or ripped off). There is an old saying that “travel broadens the mind”. In the early days of my career, I worked for a Japanese multinational and my boss at the time always asked, “have you been there, have you seen it?” whenever we were discussing a particular customer or supplier issue. Situations look very different from a distance; you can’t make objective assessments solely on virtual meetings or with 2nd or 3rd hand information. Business travel is not glamorous but is essential to all successful businesses.
