💪 Now is the time to back founders building startups that aim to tackle real problems and global challenges at scale, startups created on groundbreaking technologies, startups founded on deep innovation, and IP stemming from yearslong research or science. 💗 It's truly exciting and inspiring to witness the breadth and depth of technologies and innovations we see across Europe and the potential and opportunity that comes with it. 💔 Yet, it's disheartening to see how a lack of commercial punch, a lack of ambition to build global champions, and a lack of understanding of how cap tables, fundraising, and VCs in general work, will make many of these great technologies hit a glass ceiling sooner rather than later. 👉 In short: a shitty cap table plus tons of grants distracting you from getting real market validation as early as possible won't take you anywhere. 🚀 Getting these things right – before you even start – is crucial. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸: 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝟰𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 🚀 Yesterday the Trust Valley Day 2024 took place at the #EPFL #Rolex Learning Center. I was not able to attend due to other priorities. But I must admit that the LinkedIn Post from Marco Bertozzi (⬅️ check it out) has just made me a little bit nostalgic 😜 Around this time of the year in #2020 it was the very first time, me and my two amazing Co-Founders Florian Badertscher & Lukas Heppler have pitched our newly founded & bootstrapped #StartUp to a bigger audience (see picture) as former participants of the Tech4Trust startup accelerator. Since then, we have successfully #failedForward and basically re-invented our company almost every year - all while serving 100+ clients and staying ahead as the Swiss market leader in our field. Those fast iterations towards #innovation and #success have allowed us to understand what our clients really need and how we can build a scalable product out of it. The journey of a #founder is not an easy one but has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life so far. At the end it is more about who you become along the way rather than what you achieve. Therefore, platforms like the #TrustValley are extremely important for young startups in order to get exposure and access to like-minded and more experienced people.
