I've got a bone to pick with a few people... Yesterday we had our sixth Blokes With Beards Talking Business episode. It turns out we were lucky to have a few pre-submitted questions because nobody asked a question. Not a single one! Naturally we were curious as there were 17 people who signed up (20 Inc us three). Maybe people were just shy, we thought. So we checked the stats (see image) and they showed we had peak live listeners of ... 1. Oh dear. *Cue sad trombone* I've calculated that as an attendance rate of about 6 percent. (For comparison we had between 30 and 40 live listeners in previous weeks). I won't name and shame because that's a d"*k move. And I totally get that people are busy and get caught up with work etc. But for this to work, we do need live questions and participation. If you say you're coming along then please do. And ask questions. Get involved. It's there to help you business owners! We will only be able to keep doing this if people engage with us. Otherwise the format fails. So if you think it's a worthwhile project to give business owners free legal and financial support (and we do!), then spread the word. And if you think it's a load of crap, then tell us. We can refine it and make it work better for you guys. Or just bin it. But we need some active engagement. Hopefully see some of you there next Thursday (midday) with your questions at the ready 🙏 And thanks to our single listener 👏

We often avoid talking about it, but one thing is certain: death is inevitable. 💡 Unlike other uncertainties in life, like whether your team will win the Super Bowl, death is guaranteed. And the longer you wait to plan for it, the harder it becomes to make sure everything is in order. Estate planning isn’t just about preparing for the end — it’s about making sure your loved ones are cared for, and your wishes are honored. The time to start planning is now. Find out how to take the first step in this week’s episode of Ideas by Mike™: https://bit.ly/3XEbZ9l #IdeasbyMike™ #FinancialPlanning #EstatePlanning #LegacyPlanning #WealthManagement #FutureFocused #PlanningAhead #FamilyValues #FinancialHealth

Moving fast feels productive. Reflecting feels slow. But speed without evaluation just means repeating mistakes faster. This is a crucial time - not just for us, but for everyone we influence. Whether that's colleagues, direct reports, or even family and friends, what would it look like to take the lead in reflection? Three questions to ask before 2025: - What went well this year and how can we reproduce those wins? - What lessons did we have to learn the hard way? - Where did you grow in ways you didn't plan for? Guard time in the hustle and bustle this season to intentionally invest in reflection. Don't just collect experiences. Extract wisdom from them. Final Strategic Planning episode drops tomorrow: https://loom.ly/ZzEC1Yk
There is wisdom in evaluated experience
