I'm not seeing this based on tracking AI overviews for a number of companies. As an extreme example, there's one company I'm tracking AIOs for that ranks in the top 10 for 71% of the queries tracked, and even has some featured snippets, yet doesn't have one citation in any of the AI overviews -> Google AI Overviews, organic results overlap jumps to 99%, analysis finds https://lnkd.in/eBbG9CrD #google #seo #ai

I've been thinking more about the new AI overview link treatment I saw this weekend (and shared yesterday). Tapping the overflow menu and getting a list of links in an overlay is a GREAT way to inject ads into the AI overview experience. Would be so easy... Here's a mockup of including an ad there based on the screenshot I shared yesterday. I couldn’t agree more about the significance of AI Visibility becoming the most important metric for brands. Fresh research suggests Google's tweaking its AI summaries in search: less frequent, but meatier. A new study by SE Ranking, which scrutinised 100,000 keywords, reveals Google has significantly scaled back the appearance of AI-generated overviews since they first launched. Trapped - Part 2 :) -> Based on my case study, and finding my content BACK in the AI Overview (even after using nosnippet), Google's John Mueller checked with the team working on AI Overviews. Thank you, John! Well, they explained that my link should be removed from the AI Overview over time and that aspect just takes a little longer to be reprocessed. So if you want remove your content (and links) from AI Overviews, nosnippet should work as intended.
