To accelerate or not? My Point of View on accelerators is that founders need to be extremely committed to extracting the maximum value from the accelerator resources on one of three vectors.   1) Product Development MVP 2) Customer-User Acquisition 3) Closing Seed financing Ranked in order as MVP allows users, user traction leads to investors.  You can only Major in one, with a Minor in the second. Three patterns: 1) MVP with customer/user validation, 2) User Traction with Funding, and 3) Funding with User Traction.  Without deliberate team alignment to a committed major-minor focus, the accelerator value is not likely realized. We’re busy working on our pitch decks, materials, and applying to accelerators. A few we’ve applied to and/or applying to soon: Sequoia ARC, Y Combinator, PearX, and a16z SPEEDRUN. I’ve found that the application process itself is IMMENSELY useful. It’s allowed us to think about things and finely craft/hone our messaging and purpose. Take away from my post: apply to accelerators—there’s value in going through those steps. You’ll learn with each one and be able to sharpen how you think and talk about your product. Cheers!

Trick question - does a Series A always follow your Seed round? ❌ The answer is NO in most cases At least that's what the data from Peter Walker and Carta is showing → 42% of Seed rounds were bridge rounds in Q1 → Only 15% graduate to a Series A in <24 months Which is down from the 31% graduation rate in 2018 and 40% in 2020 The bar is higher now and all of these seed stage companies failed to show enough progress to unlock their Series A and had to raise an extra round - with extra dilution 😞 And this all gets extra tricky when Seed to Series A also sees the highest valuation multiple drop across all of the rounds...
