Different spin on the week's activities, for me it has been all about learning (finally taking my SHRM CP exam) and sharing, so I leave you with this. . . 1) :: A look at what the term 'Fractional HR' really means [article published can be found on my profile] 2) :: The future of contingent workforce. Spent an hour yesterday with industry giants, listening to their take on current and future state of contingent workforce, AI and digital transformation as well as DI. Moderated by Ashish Kaushal, founder of Consciously Unbiased. Available on YouTube for those that want to watch the recorded session. Some key takeaways: - Is BLS data really accurate? This part of the conversation was enlightening for sure. As we look at low unemployment rates, does it really tell the true story? If you are an ex-executive and have picked up Uber driving to put food on the table, are you really considered 'employed'? - Is AI and digital recruiting a recipe for discrimination lawsuits? Good article in Forbes about this and the pending litigations [linked below]. - Who are the real decision makers in today's market? It may not be the traditional procurement team or HRBP. Think CFO, CTO, CIO - all wanting to quantify the ROI against the technology stack investment they've already made toward HRIS. Value proposition and what's in it for me are the driving agenda items for decision makers as it all boils down to spend. Any way you slice and dice the job market today, we can all agree it's a new day, it's a different day and change is constant. No crystal ball but a lot of forward thinking on what tomorrow's new day will bring, add or take from the way we do business.
