Emulating Klarna Had a chance to speak with Jens Dressler - founder of graphapi® on this last night (interview to be published soon) In a bold move, Klarna recently announced a significant shift in their operational strategy by parting ways with several major SaaS providers like #Salesforce and #Workday. Instead of relying on traditional software solutions, they're embracing #AI to reimagine their workflows. Jens has seen 3 tech bubbles (starting with the Y2K!) and yet believes this is the “greatest technology shift he will see in his lifetime” He believes that for companies looking to stay ahead of the curve, now is the time to consider how to emulate Klarna's innovative approach. Klarna developed AI tools and workflows internally but majority of businesses can’t afford to do so as they do not possess these tech capabilities in-house - presenting a gold rush for new age SaaS vendors / AI native tools and channel partners who specialise in this area It’s the dawn of a new era ☀️ #6am #thoughts #morning😄

So #Klarna CEO just dropped a bomb 💣 that they just cancelled out their #Salesforce #CRM subscription to build an #AI✨ CRM in-house. Next up he is shutting down #Workday and building equivalent AI tool in-house. My thoughts?🤔 I will wait for a two-Qtr update after go-live of their #AI CRM to really believe it. Remember Klarna is not just another new startup that sprang up yesterday. It's an IPO-bound #Fintech with over $2 billion💰💰💰 in #revenues. If Klarna really built a vertical #CRM to handle their #business, we have a shake up in the #SaaS market. And if they could not, well, Klarna CEO can change his title to Klarna CMO. I will give him that. #RevenueOperations #RevOps

Congratulations on the bold move at Klarna to replace giants like Salesforce and Workday with AI. 👏 It takes brave leaders to embrace new technologies and transform modern work into something more efficient and useful for clients and customers at the same time. Sebastian Siemiatkowski, if you aim to be even more cost-efficient for your upcoming IPO, we should talk about how you can pay for customer support only in direct customer contact and be much leaner and effective in support while having the customers and their experience in focus at all times. 🤝 #customercentricity #nocallcenter #customersupport #customerexperience

Lessons from Klarna: Lesson 5 "Fast iteration beats everything else. Except for a few fundamental, hypercritical, and one-way-door decisions, iterating fast is the best way to progress with anything. It applies to product (with MVPs and fast iteration for new features), to building teams (hire slow, fire fast), to commercial actions (always find a new angle)."
Goodbye, Klarna. It’s been spectacular! After 7 amazing years, I’ve officially left Klarna. Here are my top 5 takeaways from this incredible journey: Founder mode is real. I have seen Sebastian Siemiatkowski dive deep into so many product and commercial problems and provide HUUUUGE value. This is something I will always take with me and try to apply to the new business I am building. Things move so much faster, more junior people get the best coaching of their lives, information flows are more efficient, plus a ton of other benefits. Irregular career paths are enriching and prepare you for everything. I joined Klarna in Stockholm to build a new product from scratch. We reached millions of users and built a cross functional product organization with hundreds of super smart Klarnauts. Then I moved to Spain to launch the country operations—again, from the ground up. After building all commercial teams and helping start the rest of initiatives (engineering hub, operations, etc), Klarna has today a few million active users and presence in most top100 retailers. AI will change everything. You might have seen in the news how Klarna is getting leaner and leaner by applying AI to different company areas: customer service, commercial operations, HR tools, etc. Klarna is truly adapting AI at an unprecedented speed for a company of its size. Once you see the power of AI applied in the right way, there is no way back. This insight has impacted me profoundly and is going to be the foundation of the new company I am starting. Customer obsession is king. If you are not really, really, really close to your end users, you will end up building the wrong product for them. If you are not really, really, really close to your enterprise clients, you will be unable to understand and solve their problems. I know this has been repeated a million times, but it is so fundamentally important, I will say it once more. Fast iteration beats everything else. Except for a few fundamental, hypercritical, and one-way-door decisions, iterating fast is the best way to progress with anything. It applies to product (with MVPs and fast iteration for new features), to building teams (hire slow, fire fast), to commercial actions (always find a new angle). --- I said 5, but I have soooo many more. It has been amazing to work for a company that has given me so much. Thank you, Klarna!

Super interesting to listen to Klarna's CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski's rationale for phasing out Salesforce and eventually Workday from their org. ⚡ ↳ Klarna is using GenAI to standardize, simplify, and create a more lightweight tech stack to operate more effectively with higher quality. 🛠 ↳ It all started with Sebastian being blown away by ChatGPT when it launched in late 2022 and then meeting up with Sam Altman to understand his vision for OpenAI. 🌐 ↳ Sebastian pitched Klarna as an ideal client for OpenAI to test its products, resulting in a collaborative relationship where Klarna could continuously access and experiment with cutting-edge AI solutions.🤝 ↳ A strategic masterstroke or risky bet? Time will tell and others will be watching closely. However this move does showcase the Klarna's ambitious vision to streamline operations, enhance internal productivity, and maintain tighter control over its data and workflows. 🕹 Feel free to comment with your $0.02. #AI #GenerativeAI #TechStrategy #AIAgents #AgenticAI #WorkflowAutomation #Disruption #SaaS

🚀 WOW?! Klarna just dropped a bombshell on the SaaS world! 🤯 The Swedish fintech giant is kicking Salesforce to the curb and giving Workday the boot. Why? They're going all-in on AI to streamline operations. CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski is on a mission to simplify their tech stack, and apparently, these big-name SaaS providers didn't make the cut. Klarna's revenue is up 27% YoY in Q2 2024. Are they onto something revolutionary, or is this a massive gamble? What do you think? Is this the beginning of the end for traditional SaaS, or just a crazy move by Klarna? Drop your thoughts below! 👇 #SaaSDisruption #AIRevolution #FintechInnovation #AIinTech #SaaSEvolution #FintechInnovation
