We’re incredibly grateful to have been shortlisted as a 2025 finalist at the Edie Awards, for B Corp of the Year. We’ll find out on 25th March next year who takes home the award. For now however, we couldn’t be prouder to have been shortlisted for this award, alongside our fellow finalists. “B Corp certification is important for our social and environmental impact. It shows we’re on the right track, offers guidance for where to focus next, attracts a diversity of amazing talent and proves that we can use our business as a force for good. We’ve really flown the B Corp flag high since our first certification in 2018 spreading the word about its benefits and helping the wider B Corp community take action on food waste and regenerative farming. To be nominated for the Edie Awards' B Corp of the Year means approval from a highly respected voice in sustainability.” Ed Ayton, Ethics & Sustainability Advisor #BCorp #Sustainability #Awards #Community

Such an interesting day joining Special Representative for Australian Agriculture Su McCluskey at the Global Food Forum, hearing from all actors across the supply chain about the pressures facing the industry, but also the opportunities ahead. These events are invaluable to hear directly from those in the industry and make new connections. A couple of takeaways include: 📌 the need for sound policy to provide the platform for producers and industry to advance. 📌 sustainable practices are becoming expected, and unfortunately premiums are unlikely to be paid, particularly through cost-of-living pressures and consumers who buy on price. 📌 there will be no silver bullet for decarbonising the agriculture industry, it will take many small parts, but it is achievable. Looking forward to using these insights as we continue to advocate for the Australian agricultural industry and demonstrating our climate-smart sustainability credentials.
It was great to have our Special Representative, Su McCluskey, participate in the Global Food Forum today in Brisbane. Hosted by The Australian, Visy, PRATT FOUNDATION & The Wall Street Journal, it brought together the agri-food sector to discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead. Participating on the panel with Executive Director for Bega Group Barry Irvin and CEO of SPC Global Ltd Neil Brimacombe, they focused on the changing global views on free trade, sustainability and ESG. There was great discussion highlighting the need for free open trade, a sound policy platform to enable producer action and the imperative to have data to back our credentials and claims with the right mechanisms to communicate. The day brought fantastic engagement through a variety of conversationalist panels, highlighting the pressures the agriculture sector is facing, before even considering new measures to adopt more climate friendly practices. A big thanks to all who attended and the connections made.

🙌 Join us in celebrating the fifth intervention area of CoFSA’s compilation of case studies: Food Policy Reform. Conscious Food Policy Reform is about more than just changing policies—it's about transforming the process of developing them. It requires creating spaces to start discussing policy options from a space of deep connection to self, others, and nature. Deep listening, non-violent communication, and the ability to navigate polarities are also central to the dialogue. This conscious approach enables us to craft policies that not only advance sustainability and equity but also reflect a deeper commitment to regenerative practices and social harmony. We want to thank and celebrate the inspiring work done by these organizations and leaders: Inner Green Deal and The Mindfulness Initiative. 🌱 You can read the complete case studies report here: https://lnkd.in/eCHKT5c9 🙌 Join us in advancing the exchange of knowledge and learning on conscious food systems and promoting the work of CoFSA members to inspire more. #CoFSA #food #agriculture

Jeffrey Sachs GSFN 🍽️ Food: A Universal Need, A Shared Responsibility 🌍 Food connects all of us—it is essential to everyone’s life. If we want to fix the global food system, we must engage everyone in the process. The key to doing this is building a public structure where each individual’s contribution can be recognized and counted at local, regional, and national levels. This approach will not only ensure that everyone plays a role but will also increase transparency, simplify the complexity of the system, and foster accountability. When contributions are acknowledged, people are more motivated to be part of the solution, leading to a fairer, more sustainable food system for all. #FoodSystems #Sustainability #GlobalCollaboration #Transparency #FoodSecurity #CommunityEngagement

🌍⚖️ I’m excited to announce that I’ll be speaking at Food ingredients Europe on the critical role of smallholder farmers in the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). In a world where sustainability mandates are reshaping industries, smallholders— the backbone of many global food supply chains—are essential yet often overlooked players. How we engage and support these producers can determine how successfully businesses meet CSDDD requirements, ensuring ethical, environmental, and social compliance from the ground up. In a panel hosted by Sarah Pursey we’ll discuss the practical implications of CSDDD for food brands and producers navigating these changing frameworks. Later that day, I’ll be hosting the⚡CSDDD Workshop: How Working with Smallholders Can Help Solve the Due Diligence Puzzle.⚡ 🗓 Wednesday, 20 November 2024 🕛 12:00 - 13:30 (Europe/Berlin) 📍 4C, Office Room 211 You're more than welcome to join, especially if you’re interested in a deep dive into risk assessments and practical solutions, drawing from Solidaridad’s decades of experience working with smallholders in over 50 countries. #sustainability #food #FiEurope #smallholderfarmers #DueDiligence #SustainableSupplyChains #CorporateResponsibility #SmallholderFarmers #FoodIngredientsEurope #CSDDD #EthicalSourcing #SocialImpact #SupplyChainTransparency

🌱 What does it take to transform the future of agribusiness? 🚜 The AMEA (Agribusiness Market Ecosystem Alliance) Network, which includes 34 partner organizations and 9 local networks and has a reach of 10,000 agri-SMEs, is collaboratively defining the roadmap(s) 🗺️ to arrive at a future where farmers receive a living wage for fair working conditions that inspire the next generation to invest in sustainable farming as a business. The AMEA Network is at an exciting juncture on this journey, especially with the recent launch of ISO 18716 (https://lnkd.in/eE3DHDBB). I am humbled to pick up as AMEA's new Board Chair where Alan Johnson left off. AMEA is poised to drive a data-driven approach to strengthening farmer organizations and elevating their impact on global supply chains. AMEA always seeks new partners and members to join this collaborative effort. Please reach out to AMEA or directly to me if you are interested in joining! #ISO18716 #farmerorganizations #SDGs #ESG #sustainability #agrisme #msme
Have you met AMEA's new Board Chairperson? Casey Harrison, Nuru's Chief Sustainability Officer, is a long-time champion of AMEA. "I am deeply honored to serve as the Chair of AMEA's Supervisory Board, especially at a time when the Network members are advancing the newly established ISO 18716. This international standard is a game-changer for the professionalization of farmer organizations, setting a benchmark for trust and transparency in local agribusiness and across value chains. Together, the AMEA Network will work to strengthen farmer organizations and elevate their positive impact on global supply chains."
