It was the bag of dried marrowfat peas that put me off. They were in a 'luxury hamper’ I was given, a few years back. I’ve had a few other random hampers over the years, too. So when I launched Made Scotland 20 months ago and customers asked, 'Do you do hampers?' 'Are there gift boxes?', I said, 'No'. Then they asked some more, and I thought, 'Maybe'. And today, well, I launched the first Made Scotland Gift Box. Over the next weeks and months, I'll add more boxes to the collection. The real credit goes to the fantastic Scottish makers who make these beautiful things. They’re all small businesses who have sustainability and quality at their core. This first gift box includes candles by Scott's Apothecary, salt soap by Dook, breakfast tea by Shibui, Tabrifics tablet and Coco Chocolatier chocolate. Why would you want to buy 'Scottish gifts' made overseas when you can buy good quality produce like this, made here? So if you've no time to spare and need a gift, take a look. Just a few clicks and you're sorted... unique things, sustainably-made by Scottish makers, beautifully wrapped with a handwritten message. Not a bag of dried marrowfat peas in sight. Because running a business is a bit of a masterclass in giving new things a go, it feels like the right thing to try. https://lnkd.in/e4-iAx_k

Festive hampers as corporate gifts are a tradition that isn't likely to go away any time soon, even in these increasingly cost-sensitive times for businesses. Fortunately, a well-chosen gift of quality, ethically-sourced drinks or foods can benefit the giver as well as the lucky recipient. Gifts sourced from artisan suppliers and small producers enhance a brand’s reputation for quality, fairness, and community connection as well as creativity. They can be a very worthwhile PR spend, leading to a closer connection with stakeholders. High quality products like the beautifully presented White Heron Estate Sparkling Wine, British Cassis and British Framboise can really enhance your brand’s appeal. The story behind these products is an engaging one and sure to incite curiosity and conversation. https://lnkd.in/e-yJZFK8 hashtag#CorporateGifting hashtag#PR hashtag#ChristmasGifts hashtag#LocalFoods hashtag#SupportLocal hashtag#herefordshirefoods hashtag#herefordshire hashtag#BrandBuilding hashtag#Sustainability hashtag#PublicRelations hashtag#RegionalDelights

Believe it or not, there are downsides to having a ridiculously creative baker as a husband (other than the obvious 🐽 🤣)... We change our brownie/ blondie flavours every month to reflect the seasons and if I'm perfectly honest with you, I don't think my husband could do this job without this freedom. Working with new ideas and flavours is what keeps his passion alive (particularly when he's leading a team that are creating thousands of units of one flavour per day). This does raise a HUGE problem from a marketing perspective as it would be a false economy for any business to get professional photographs of every product. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe you need an excellent selection of photographs for an e-commerce website, but social media these days requires almost another direction entirely of content. I have an iPhone SE and I don't know how to use my digital SLR 🦖. So what I have spent a lot of time doing over the summer is studying images of food photography and attempting my best shot at refreshing our social media assets for Q4. We have been working on a brand refresh for quite some time and I'm really keen to incorporate more vibrant colours into our palette. So whilst we nail the direction we want to take the brand in, expect to see more content like the video below which was filmed on a whim yesterday whilst the sun was shining. Every day is a school day! #supportsmallbusiness #corporategifting

A great article from Jen (Gilhoi) Veralle of ZERO PROOF COLLECTIVE. "In 2024, there are so many great corporate gifting solutions and companies offering customization and fulfillment — gifts that are not rooted in alcohol consumption. Aligning your gift of choice with your brand and a social good mission can be a good starting point."
Seeking to give gifts to your employees or clients this corporate gift-giving season? Alcohol through the ages has been held in high regard. In our culture, alcohol is associated with celebration, rewards, and a specialness. Not only in our personal lives, where we socialize with friends and family, but in the workplace. Perhaps this year, Corporate America, we can consider the negative impact of corporate gifting that centralizes alcohol and instead gift an inclusive, healthier offering as token of appreciation this holiday season and beyond. Read up on all the reasons to not gift alcohol in my share here on All Inclusive Corporate Gifting. https://lnkd.in/gFWsJnPi As you revisit gifting and if you're drawn to gifting a thoughtful, crafted beverage experience, see Equal Parts Cocktail Company. I'm excited to be collaborating with founder Simeon Priest as their cocktail kits don't include alcohol, rather, they're celebratory, shareable and anyone choosing not to drink can enjoy nonalcoholic beverage excellence! PS. they also offer virtual and in-person cocktail classes that can be nonalcoholic focused. 🍹 🥃 🎁 #corporategifting #bestcorporategifts #workplaceculture

Everyone bought a ticket that was supposed to include a meal. It was prime dinner time. Bellies were starting to rumble. And then… we found out that the food wasn’t coming. 🤦♀️ That’s what happened just before our International Women’s Day Soirée started. In the eleventh hour, we discovered there was a date mix-up with catering. Our *own* stomachs dropped—and then we kicked into high gear. Rachel and I started scrambling to assemble refreshments. With some help from our members, we made a quick run to Whole Foods for charcuterie boards and ordered quesadillas. However, it wasn't the meal everyone had anticipated. The event was still inspiring, educational, and loads of fun. We did our best to make it up to everyone by offering attendees free access to a future event. But it felt disastrous in the moment. Of course, that’s always how it feels when plans or expectations fall short. We feel inadequate or afraid of what others will think. Here’s the thing. At the end of the day, it all comes down to how you own and respond to the hiccup. Whether it’s a dry spell in business, a mistake in a project, a marketing campaign that flops (or a hungry crowd), you can bounce back. That’s resilience. As business owners, we’re not going to dodge every obstacle that comes our way, and that’s a good thing. We can use our reactions to build ourselves up and show our people what we value. It’s easy when it’s easy. What really counts is what you do in the midst of—and in response to—the hiccups. Remember that next time you’re unexpectedly faced with a hungry crowd.
