Their insights could enrich the strategy, ensuring it resonates more broadly and inclusively. - Focused Support for Developing Countries: While the strategy aims to bolster international partners' digital capacities, more targeted support could help bridge the significant digital divides in developing regions, fostering more equitable growth. - Flexibility in Implementation: Adopting a more flexible approach in applying the strategy could empower local stakeholders to innovate and address their unique digital challenges effectively. Humans are social creatures, and we need interaction with others to thrive. Meetups and events allow us to connect with speakers & colleagues, and to build new relationships. Its also a great way to learn new things and to expand our horizons. We can learn about different perspectives while sharpening our skills and gaining more knowledge. Last week I attended a bunch of events: - in Canberra with an ICT industry symposium with Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade - an AUKUS panel with Stephen Moore hosted by Canberra Cyber Hub - the IIBA Australia Chapter Ltd Festival of Business Analysis where Talenza was a key sponsor with Alexandra (A.J) Mikaela & Adam. Thanks Briana - Ada's Tribe Women in Data event held at Talenza HQ with speakers Chantal Velasque Surabhi Jain GAICD Tanya Graham & Taylor Chu What was striking through all these events, was the emphasis on help & being part of a community. That sense of belonging, which is hard-wired into all of us, along with the connections we forge, is not only empowering but can also help push careers forward. Post-COVID and hurtling towards a more digital/technologically advanced society, the connections we make in-person at events or meetings, advance this sense of belonging and community mindfulness. If you get an opportunity to attend these events, that are of interest and in your field, there is no better way to learn, upskill and grow as a human. Some have argued that government has no business in business. Reality, I reckon, is a solid counter to this argument. To develop a realistic and effective operations strategy, a business must fully appreciate the place and reach of government as a major determinant of business performance within the broader matrix of business success factors. This was the thrust of one of my arguments as a panelist at the recently concluded Global Tech Africa summit.

Today I joined the PS, the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital, Economy Eng John Tanui and several others CEOs of several State bodies for a breakfast briefing on the upcoming Connected Africa Summit 2024. The Connected Africa Summit 2024, which will be held at the iconic Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi from 21st to 25th April, 2024, serves as a strategic forum to chart a course towards a digitally-empowered and interconnected future for Africa, setting the stage for unprecedented growth and prosperity as well. It will bring together African Heads of State, Ministers of ICT, public and private sector representatives, Big Tech partners, academia, foreign missions, development partners, sponsors, delegates and thought leaders to have a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue on accelerating digital connectivity, unlocking investment opportunities, foster collaboration and exchange knowledge.
