What a fantastic and important article for anyone in sales to read, or in any profession, for that matter. Mindset is everything! I tell my team all the time how important it is to approach your day, your work, and even your life, with the right mindset. We are not "selling" people. We, especially at Hibu, are HELPING people! We help people realize their dreams, provide for their family, provide for their employees and their families as well. This is done primarily through helping our customers of course. But I am also grateful that it's done internally, and that I get to work with leaders who see the importance of in the moment coaching, and do so in an authentic, and spontaneous manner. #mindset #saleslife #hibulife #growthmode #helpingothers

Sales is the most challenging job I have ever had. This article breaks down selling vs helping. Keenan is the master at GAP selling. Learn to help the prospect with the problem and they will be loyal. I don’t get leads. I have to generate 100% of my leads. I hunt then discover the problem develop the solution and close it. The number one problem is hunting. Making the connection is a challenge. Decision makers don’t want to waste time. Be the helper and win deals.

10 habits to help you be more successful 1. Master your attention to detail. Seemingly every job description has “good attention to detail” listed for a reason. 2. Be on time. So many people get fired for this totally preventable reason. 3. Don’t die on every hill. Know when to walk away from a disagreement. Compromise where need be. 4. Don’t be utterly self-serving. It helps the company when you help your colleagues. If you develop a reputation for caring only about yourself, it will catch up to you. 5. Proactively learn and teach yourself useful skills for your role. Don’t rely on your supervisor to show you everything. 6. Report on your progress. Getting promoted involves selling yourself too. It’s not just about doing good work. It’s about being seen doing good work. 7. Manage your personal life. Treat your family and spouse right. Be kind and loving. You won’t be successful in life if your your personal life is a dumpster fire. You definitely won’t be happy either. 8. Remember that business is ultimately about making money. Anything you can do that will shape the bottom line, from processes, to personnel, to cost savings, to revenue, will make or break your career. 9. Be honest. Tell people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. 10. Ask for help when you need it. Nobody is above help, whether it’s with your career, mental health, or family life. Nobody benefits from compartmentalizing all their problems or needs.

Building a positive relationship with your manager is undoubtedly beneficial. Consistently delivering high-quality work and exceeding expectations are solid strategies for standing out. However, it's crucial to remember that recognition and reward should not come at the expense of an employee's well-being. While a strong work ethic is essential, managers must also ensure that exemplary employees aren’t taken for granted or assigned excessive workloads just because they reliably get the job done. A healthy workplace is built on mutual respect, where accomplishments are acknowledged without burdening top performers unfairly.
