This expansion is part of a broader collaboration with the Philippine Institute of CPAs to enhance continuing professional education and provide access to valuable resources. As a result, aspiring accountants in the Philippines will have greater access to the CPA licensure process, reinforcing the dedication to developing skilled professionals who can meet the rigorous demands of the accounting profession.

Legislative scrutiny of private equity involvement in healthcare continues with the latest drafted bill out of California. As noted in the Becker's article below, lawmakers in the state are considering a bill that would enhance oversight of private equity and hedge fund buyers of hospitals and healthcare facilities. The bill mandates written notice to the state attorney general before purchase (who must approve the transaction) and notification to relevant agencies within 90 days of the transaction. The attorney general would be able to halt acquisitions if anticompetitive effects are likely or if healthcare services access is at risk.
