Well here's what it generated: 3.3M Views 70k Likes 220 comments CPM's = $4.84 Now would I recommend everyone do this? No. This is for a large 9 figure brand. Size of your brand matters. Glossier, Inc. searches continue to rise on Amazon...even though they do not actively sell there. Sometimes the best Amazon strategy is not being there...for as long as you don't have to be...and when you're ready you open up the flood gates. And just because your not selling there doesn't mean you have to completely ignore it. Rogue sellers...listings issues...competition. There's a bunch of reasons for brands to pay attention even if they are not selling. It worked well for Native and a bunch of others. My hats off to any brand who can do it with out Amazon initially or forever. And as an Amazon marketer, I salivate for any brand with pent up Amazon demand.

With more places, and strategies to advertise comes the difficult problem of prioritization. I put together this quick guide on the most profitable DTC campaigns that every brand should be running.

If you're a DTC brand trying to grow STOP picking arbitrary ROAS or CPA targets and making ad spend decisions off of those alone. What actually matters? 1. Payback Period - at what point in time do you become profitable on that customer? Times have changed - bootstrapped or VC funded - if your payback period if beyond 6 months you’re most likely in trouble. (just look at the public DTC companies that tried that) 2. Contribution Margin Simply: Average Order Value - COGS - Ad Spend = CM You should know what your CM is at different periods of time (Day 0, Day 60, Day 90, 1 year). This goes hand in hand with your payback period of course. Here's an example of a roughly 3 month payback period: Day 0: AOV = $100 COGS 50% = $50  CAC = $60 Contribution Margin = -$10 Day 90: AOV = $130 COGS 50% = $65 CAC = $60 (you only pay for the customer once) Contribution Margin = $5 Understand how this affects your overall P&L and you can start making better decisions in how much to invest in growth.

How do you increase your store revenue, AOV, and CR quickly? Find an offer that works. And don't stop testing new ones. Offer testing is an underrated DTC strategy. Most brands stuck with the same offer month after month, year after year. Same Black Friday deals, same Welcome offer, same Cart abandonment offer. Nor there's any logic to the process. Most copy their competition. Or reverse engineer their margin. With Q3 starting, you need to start testing offers for Q4. Without a tested offer, you are leaving a lot to chance. Here's how we offer testing - --> Create 4-5 unique offers - Percentage discounts: 10%, 20%, etc. - Dollar amount discounts: $5 off, $10 off - Tiered Offers: $10 Off $100, $15 Off 150, etc. - Value-added offers: Buy one, get one free; free gift with purchase - Shipping offers: Free shipping, discounted expedited shipping - Loyalty offers: Points, VIP early access to new products Create at least 4-5 offers to start with. --> Run email campaigns or on-site pop-ups to test offers You need quick data to test offers, so it's best to run it as a campaign or on-site pop-up. The goal is to collect data over 3-4 days for each offer. Run small targeted campaigns to test different offers. --> Monitor key metrics An offer will have an impact over - Direct metrics -  - Conversion rate - Average order value Indirect metrics -  - Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC) - Store Revenue - Customer lifetime value Focus on direct metrics for testing the metrics. --> Dump non-performing one. For every good offer, you will have 2 bad offers. Keep on separating good from bad. Don't run bad offers again. Instead, try to find variations of good offers. The goal is to get 3-4 good offers, which you can rotate all through the year. Don't wait till Q4 to test your offer. #dtc #ecommerce

Her content resulted nearly $5,000 in sales... making 93.26% of her total Affiliate income. Venture capital funds ruined DTC business models. The idea of: 🛑 Revenue growth at all costs 😑 CAC/LTV 🚫 Economies of scale Started when VCs built their thesis around investing in DTC brands. They couldn’t have got it more wrong and as an operator myself I was watching 👀. Why did they get it so wrong? Well firstly a discretionary brand is not a recurring revenue business model like SaaS. Economies of scale is largely a fallacy as OPEX scales with revenue - parcels don’t fulfil themselves. Retention and “LTV” is heavily reliant on category and discounting and is not an indication of loyalty. Marketing costs don’t come down with scale, they grow YoY with Google and Meta’s revenue targets. The list goes on and on… My mission is to make DTC’s lean, profitable, cash generating machines and that doesn’t happen with revenue scaling, trust me!

Shopify’s stock is RIPPING (+36%). It's printing cash. eCom is crushing. Rev is growing faster than GMV. It’s not even Holiday yet. LET’S GO! The key stats: - GMV is up 24% YoY. - Shopify's Rev is up 26%. Also insane: Q3 Net income $828m. For context: Net Income for ALL of 2023. $132m. In 1 quarter, they're putting up 7x+ their entire net income for all of last year. 1 last thing that really stood out to me from the earnings call: $484m/$828m in Net Income (~58%) is from equity appreciation.  - 42% of Profits were from Shopify’s operations. - 58% are from investments that are crushing!! Shows how absolutely on top of this market that they are. Ecom is going to continue to grow. Shopify will continue to capture a ton of that growth. 1 way or another. #shopify (As always, this is not investing or any other kind of advice. And I was never here.)
