As the COVID-19 pandemic recedes (at least in the US), we’re moving into a new phase of the COVID-19 Citizen Science Study. Refocusing and reducing questions to what remains most important for us to track and study. There are still huge unknowns about what will happen with COVID-19 variants, whether there will be another surge in Fall/Winter, and how influenza and other viruses might make a comeback.

In this digital age of hyper competition and collaboration, AI/machine-learning enabled use cases hold the key to continuous & disruptive innovation in the post-CoronaVirus new norm business environment. Every industry has the same obstacle-course to go through. After developing the initial experimental use-case, the enterprise needs an agile platform to deploy the model in their production environment in an accelerated manner. Sometimes data scientists and analysts take a lot of time in gathering data and utilizing it in their advanced analytics activities. There is a ‘need for speed’ and ‘efficiency’ of ML operational deployment. Currently there are good options such as GCP & Databricks cloud environments to deploy machine learning enabled use cases in a matter of hours. This document outlines one of the automated approaches for enterprises to deploy machine learning enabled use cases using rapid deployment GCP and Databricks platforms.

Hollywood films are one of the most popular choice of entertainment across the world. In the not so distant past, viewers outside the US had to wait for months to see the new blockbusters in their local theaters. Additionally, non-English speaking movie goers could not enjoy the shows because content was not dubbed or subtitled in the local languages. In contrast, today we have releases on the same day and date, spanning across geographies and available in more than 50 local languages, not just in movie theaters but on several new digital channels like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc.

In summary, an intelligently woven technology framework uses voice activated smart workflows based on Media Ontologies and incorporates machine learning/AI to automate workflows across different tools used in the M&E space and hence provides the following benefits.
    - Digital Engagement and Insights
    - Intelligent Media Operations
    - Business Eco-System Collaboration

In less than 20 years, law governing safe harbors for digital intermediaries is outdated.

It has been 18 years since the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) was signed into law . It became effective in October 2000, and it has been incorporated into the Copyright Act (Title 17 of the U. S. Code). It was created to balance the security and rights of copyright holders with the growing influence of digital communications. But today it is facing serious criticism about its usefulness from every key stakeholder—creators, distributors and consumers alike.

Congress has taken steps to mitigate these complaints, such as limiting the liability of an internet service provider (ISP) or online service provider (OSP), both critical platforms in content distribution, in userinstigated copyright violations. ...

    Is the DMCA Dead?

    ...

Via the DMCA, legacy copyright holders, especially larger ones, can effectively silence new content creators and suppress new distribution mediums. It does not encourage customer engagement or encourage a better customer experience. ...

Today, customers consume products and demand services across various channels as opposed to taking the back seat. The end-to-end holistic customer experience is a key differentiator that has major influence on the customer’s buying decisions, Net Promoter Score, brand impressions and sustainability of the customer relationship. Cable operators need to interact, transact and serve the customers across the channels and provide them a seamless experience. And for that, they need to dive deep into understanding the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and mine relevant information from it to address their needs.

    Use Cases
Unified customer voice – Aggregate and condense customer voice
Total Quality Management – Correlating dissatisfaction of customers across channels
Self-Care Optimization – Crowdsource ideas and past solutions and provide them as suggestions
Co-creation with customers – Facilitate bringing in customer ideas into the cable operators

Benefits of the solution as realized by our customers:
    1. Efficient idea mobilization -Crowdsourcing ideas from community and actionizing them helped us increase hit rate on community knowledge base by 30%.
    2. Increased operational efficiencies - Ideas generated can be used to fix operational inefficiencies thereby minimizing ticket volume have helped a potential reduction of 7% on in-bound calls.
    3. Improved ROI for better decision making- Easy-to-understand visualizations with drill down capabilities can help in making better business decisions.
