Trend: Personal Memoirs on Film   Thought this was interesting! "Memoirs in motion" is named as a luxury trend on the 2025 list from Virtuoso and the trend forecasting agency, Globetrender. According to the report, this trend reflects the growing demand for personalized story telling and memory preservation. People who take bucket list vacations may also hire professional film crews to document their travel, turning these holidays into personal legacies.   It's similar to what I've found to be true about memoirs ... they are more personal legacy builders, than ego. If you are a man writing a newsletter and you compile a list of links to thought leaders on a specific topic—say, AI or marketing attribution or SEO or whatever— make sure to include at least one take by a woman or nonbinary person. Every time. It's basic editorial equity. If you cannot find any women or nonbinary people writing about the topic of your choice, ask yourself why. (Is it because you didn't bother to look outside your own filter bubble for takes?) I'm always bemused with how many men publicly declare their feminism, then talk over, forget to link, don't bother to read, or straight-up don't include an equal amount of women in their professional media diets. I don't hold it against you, but I notice. The trend of men not bothering to acknowledge the ongoing contributions of women remains especially problematic in exec-level tech industry thought leadership.

The sentiment across social media over Adobe being sued by the U.S. DOJ is already damning on its own. I’ve pushed for learning alternative or third-party software for this particular reason as I know so many creatives, designers, and marketers (myself included) whose rely on these tools for more than 50% of our workflow.
