“Tamiko is great leader in the Customer Success and Sales space. I learned a lot by observing her interactions with clients. She provides great perspective and is very skilled in objection handling. She pushes her team to think critically about business impacts and do what is best for both the client and the business. I have seen her skilled negotiations win dollars for the business and create success stories where a loss was previously anticipated. If anyone can help turn an account or sale around it is Tamiko! She does this through forming personal connections with her contacts and seeking to understand. Beyond her professional skillset, I appreciate that she cares personally about her team members. When leading a larger team it can be hard to form personal connections, but Tamiko is always genuine in her interactions and is always willing to listen to her team! In Tamiko I have found a lifelong mentor and I know that she will leave a great impact on all the lives she touches! ”

Your team lacks motivation and ownership. How can you inspire them to take charge of their work?
If your team isn't buying into the mission, it shows in their performance. They treat the role as a job. The real issue is you might not be communicating our vision clearly. Or worse, you haven't shown that we care about their why. Why are they here? What do they want to achieve? In some organizations, management is purely transactional—focused on performance. But true leadership? That's about coaching and developing your team. To lead successfully, you need to understand their goals. Help them grow by creating a plan that blends their aspirations with the organization's objectives. They need to own their development, but you need to show you care.

You're onboarding a new client. How do you ensure their expectations are realistic?
The first step is in a healthy sales process; understanding the client's needs and aligning it to the right solution. Only sell what you have. Don't oversell. You've also captured all of the client's needs in your CRM/systems so that cross-functional teams are able to understand why they chose this firm and these solutions. There should always be a formal handoff process between sales and onboarding, and the CSM. By the time you get to onboarding, all should be clear on their needs. In onboarding you communicate clear goals, next steps and assigning ownership and dates. Proactive communication allows for ongoing feedback and to address any changes or concerns to be addressed.

Your team is divided on the client's needs. How do you ensure everyone is on the same page?
I start with leveraging voice of customer data from our systems; tools like Gong and NPS that have allowed us to capture client feedback, calls and emails to synthesize this info. I also believe that given the various levels of experience across teams, this situation may can arise. Training is vital to help teams uncover the underlying messages. It's not enough to ask good questions and accept surface level answers. We have to dig deep, ask frequently and then look at the data and actions clients takes. Building a true partnership as a trusted advisor affords you more information than transactional relationships. This coupled with a command of the data, sales enablement and client success tools help teams build a complete picture.

The Fatherhood Initiative is designed to mentor youth who are growing up without a father in their home. Statistics show the impact the absence of a father figure has in the home in regards to the healthy development of these children.
My involvement is administrative, operational and frankly anything else the program needs to launch, grow and successfully make an impact in the lives and community of these children. -
