I've kicked off Q4 (thanks to a little LinkedIn sabbatical) re-energized for the quarter ahead. We pride ourselves not just on being bespoke in our approach to media outreach but also evaluating what is newsworthy and helping find the angles we think we will cut through the clutter. 🎙 Internal Communications: Helping internal teams communicate with executives and line-level employees with a wide range of strategic and tactical needs from Town Halls to newsletter to article drafting. We work with both C-suite or BU-level leaders to develop everything from presentations to emails quickly, with a particular strength in building infrastructure when that is adding to the workload. 📝 Writing Services: From web copywriting to LinkedIn posts to white papers, we can capture a client or brand voice and contextualizing it to the platform or need at hand. This is shaping up to be an unpredictable fourth quarter between the economy and the election; helping your audiences make sense of these from your company's perspective is a strong point. Additional and related capabilities include PowerPoint design, video creation and editing, paid media buying, web audits, and comms research services. Back to school time is a great season to refresh your LinkedIn profile! Anyone client-facing or working to build their reputation as a thought leader should revisit their profile page at least a couple of times a year to make sure it's still on target. It's also a good idea to ask a friend who isn't so close to your work to take a look. You may not be saying what you think you are! This post outlines a few tips on where to start.

Starting a new Monday series called "Underrated." This week, what's underrated to me is body language on Zoom. I think this is what makes me so tired after a day of meetings - I'm trying to read everyone's body language. If you're in comms, this is something we need to keep schooling spokespeople on. Is the reporter leaning in? Are they looking away? It's subtle but it matters. If you're job hunting, this is something to pay attention to in interviews. Taking cues can help you: - Add the right amount of detail -Guage your audience's interest in you -Stop talking at the right time (no one likes it when you overdo it) #comms #communications #underrated

Remember that securing media isn’t about what you want to say - it’s about what people want to hear. You may be doing things differently (just like everyone else). But what matters is who it impacts. In order to be newsworthy, it must affect communities and populations outside of your employees, partners, customers, investors, etc. VC: corporate.bro on IG and Corporate Bro on LinkedIn.

It could be time to lead with internal communications. I recently attended an Axios Communicators event in Washington, D.C., "Navigating an AI-Driven Election," to learn what's on the mind of top corporate communicators. Through interviews conducted by Eleanor Hawkins, right, of Axios Communicators, we heard from industry experts like Dani Dudeck, left, Instacart's chief corporate affairs officer; Deisha Barnett (UPS president, global communications); Sabastian V. Niles (Salesforce president & chief legal officer); and Ron Bonjean (co-founder, ROKK Solutions). In keeping with Axios smart brevity style, here's a quick hit on what's on their minds: ☑ Employees First: UPS banned the term "employee communications." No longer treated as a separate function with siloed messages directed at them, UPS takes advantage of the power and external reach of their 500,000 employees. Barnett said not all UPS messages are shared through PR, advertising or social media channels, "but reaching our employee base is a lever we always pull." Instacart places a similar priority on honest and open employee communications. ☑ Be Deliberate on Social Issues: Follow a well-defined process for addressing social issues, not a knee-jerk "we need to fire out a statement by the CEO." If it's a go, the statement needs to align with your values and core stakeholders. "If you're a bagel shop you should comment on food security, not Roe v. Wade," Bonjean said. ☑ AI Playground: UPS created a protected environment called the "AI Playground" where their communications team can explore AI tools and techniques, including using AI to predict media coverage based on press releases. Try this: Once your press release draft is completed, drop it into AI and ask "What news story would Axios (or media outlet of your choice) likely write using this information?" TL;DR Summary: Take a new look at internal communications and maybe even lead with it. AI is here to stay, but be strategic and intentional with it. Focus on tone and explore the risks of commenting - or remaining silent - on social issues, but use a process, not a conversation with the CEO. #AI #internalcommunications #PR #publicrelations

An employee voice initiative only makes sense if: 1. It listens to ALL your colleagues - not just the ones with a company mobile 2. It leads to action - stuff happens as a result. There are many ways to hear from hard-to-reach audiences that can make a big difference to the employee experience of all your colleagues. Nick Robbins shares some interesting perspectives here:

Now you are going to: Email the speakers a congratulatory note and ask them a question Give a brief talk on the meeting's highlights to your office colleagues Write an update to clients Share the latest industry news with your networking group Plan to incorporate these new best practices in your work No, you didn't take any of those actions. You simply posted a photo of yourself with a speaker. What would anyone learn from that? Provide insights to those who did not attend the event and support their business growth. #conferences #contentmarketing
