Another great Revolution.Aero event is well underway! Some key takeaways from yesterday's Day One Operations panel with Altaport, National Business Aviation Association, Skyports Infrastructure, and Wisk: - "Day one" is a misnomer. Meaningful VTOL pax/cargo operations have been happening for over a half-century in various locations. While the introduction of DEP will be revolutionary in the long run, it is only an evolutionary step in the short run, and "day one" operations will mirror today's light-duty helicopter operations, e.g., short tour flights, NYC-JFK transfers, etc. - Aside from aircraft certification, the linchpin to day one operations is infrastructure preparedness, specifically charging capacity. No changes needed to airspace management or even customer/community acceptance in the short term. - Looking beyond day one, infrastructure remains a key unlock for a broader value proposition. Multi-modal trips are suboptimal and heavily negate the value of AAM, so the closer the infrastructure is to true origins and destinations, the more value AAM provides.

Looking forward to digging in and hearing from U.S. companies on the annoucement from Bureau of Industry and Security-U.S. Department of Commerce regarding new regulations to modernize space related export controls. Still reviewing but U.S. Department of State's #ITAR modification to USML Category XV(a)(8) to increase the bandwidth criterion to 500 MHz is VERY disappointing. The rest of the world including China is already beyond this. This rule prevents U.S. companies that provide #SAR technology from competing for business on the merits of their technology and capabilities. The U.S. Government talks about American leadership in space all the time, but again the actions do not match the words. This update does not move the needle for our domestic #industrialbase. Public comment due 11/22.

Airde Elevated Thinking has been selected by the FAA's Office of NextGen to directly support the Advancing Flight Autonomy Research (AFAR) project under the SETIS contract vehicle. Southwest Airlines and Archer have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop operational plans for electric air taxi networks utilizing Archer’s eVTOL aircraft at #California airports where Southwest operates. Both companies intend to collaborate on a Concept of Operations that lays the foundation for integrated electric air taxi networks, which would support California airports and the surrounding communities that Southwest serves. Southwest is the Golden State’s largest air carrier and operates at 14 airports across the state.
