The world's first multi-sensor pass-based #tasking The innovative multi-constellation pass-based tasking is one of the world's first capabilities on the Eartheye Space's Sat-Tasking platform. We offer this unique self-service capability for #defence & #intelligence (D&I) customers, but it has applications for many other industries. WHAT IS IT? The ability to collect multiple sensor data from the same tasking workflow where the timing can be as close to each other as possible. The platform automatically synchronises the collection schedules across multiple satellite operators. WHY IS IT A BIG DEAL? Until a #satellite can collect data using multiple payloads simultaneously, capturing the same area at the same time in optical (#multispectralimaging, for example), synthetic aperture radar (#SAR), radio frequency (#RF), or any other sensor modality is impossible. Even if such a capability existed, the payloads would have limitations on specific spatial or spectral resolutions. BUT WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? First, multi-sensor or #multimodal data are used to solve wicked problems. Single-source solutions are like taking a knife to a gunfight. For example, ‘overlaying’ optical with SAR with varying resolutions (literally mixing and matching like Lego blocks) provides much more insight into the observation of interest than just either. I will do another post on maritime domain awareness (#MDA) next. Second, if one sensor fails, the other collects and does not leave the user without data, which happens with reliance on a single source. Third, if the collection with optical is cloudy, SAR comes to the rescue. D&I clients find the capability a godsend for all these reasons and others. Finally, the feeds we deliver by automatically extracting the information from the tasked data are more accurate and actionable. A subscriber to a feed can compare and combine the information for validation as each sensor data delivery occurs. WHERE ELSE CAN THE CAPABILITY BE USEFUL? #Disastermanagement and #emergencyresponse use cases, #insurance use cases, particularly #maritime, and covert operations such as extraction of personnel and competitive due diligence, among others. One of many benefits of subscribing to the Eartheye Space’s Sat-Tasking platform. Happy tasking at tasking.eartheye.space or ask for a demo at www.eartheye.space #earthobservation #remotesensing #geospatial #saas #spacetech #innovation

What are the advantages of space-based remote-sensing platforms for pipeline monitoring? Justin Oliverira, Founder & CEO of Boston Geospatial, shared several, including: * Wide-area coverage makes monitoring hundreds of miles of assets possible * The revisit rate is typically acceptable * Very high platform stability enables the measurement of very small changes * Newer capabilities, such as radar imaging (SAR), don’t require daylight and are unaffected by clouds Watch this clip to learn more: https://hubs.la/Q02LPWrd0 #pipelines #satellitedata

📸Building on the success of the Sensing and Surveillance challenge in 2023 NATO DIANA is expanding this challenge to all domains (land, sea, air, space and cyber). DIANA is seeking solutions that enable forecasting, indications and warning, situational awareness, post-action assessment, and understanding of behaviour drivers such as patterns-of-life analysis and sentiment including–but not limited to–advanced sensing technology, quantum materials, novel materials for sensing, drone surveillance, augmented reality, next gen wireless technology, secure sensor data transmission and storage systems, and intelligent resource allocation and planning systems. 👉 More information on this specific challenge can be found in the problem statement: https://ow.ly/QITc50SBqTV #NATODIANA #Challenges #Accelerator

YASDE Update #1 --> Intelsat 33e (41748 / 2016-053B) breakup on 2024-10-19 Exquisite, non-resolved, photometric techniques employing AI and ML have inverted the light curves from sensors spanning diverse geometries. The result? Positive identification of one of the numerous #SpaceDebris objects!! It seems one of the objects from the Boeing-manufactured satellite bus is a door which was blown outward during this unfortunate event. 🤣 Sorry - couldn't help myself. More updates to come, but this is proving to be a substantial historical GEO breakup event. Certainly the 2019 failure of Intelsat 29e, also a Boeing 702 MP bus, is brought under new scrutiny (electrostatic discharge, harness issue?). Only 3 pieces of debris were eventually entered into space catalogs from that 2019 event (however, only 1 is in the US catalog). Recall for the 2019 Intelsat 29e event, ExoAnalytic Solutions graced the public with a video catching the debris event as it occurred: https://lnkd.in/gWRb7ugv Initial YASDE notification for this event on LinkedIn: https://lnkd.in/gYAWhRVw More to come.... #LongTermSustainabilityOfSpace <<< Video is from a 2019 event with the same bus type >>>
