That equates to about 3x the revenue of the world’s 100 highest- earning companies in 2020. - The U.S. population grew by 24.5 million from 2010 to 2022, and Hispanics accounted for 53% of this increase – a greater share than any other racial or ethnic group. - Women around the world and across all ages drive 64% of consumer spending

I vote "helpful!" When I worked in retail stores and restaurants 25 years ago, it was exhausting having to constantly chase down someone who could tell me what I needed to do next. It was also frustrating when I needed to find someone who could help me help a customer. I never liked telling them to "hold on" or "follow me" so I could get them the info or items they needed. But I didn't have a choice. I didn't have a mobile device with me much less an AI assistant of sorts. So, if an on-device AI can be both that task assigner and all-knowing source of job-related information, seems like it could be pretty helpful to a frontline worker. It's like a personal assistant that's keeping you organized, informed and focused on the right things, making you look good and your life easier. What do you think?

"Experts believe" is very loosely defined here. I agree with Alan Chapell on the timing, the DOJ definitely has room to fall back. If the Chrome business model is supporting the tech with some sort of automated farm and 3 salaries, good to go. Super duper easy, just like this: three chill surfers hanging out in a surf hut at Half Moon Bay, surrounded by a glowing, laid-back vibe as they microdose psilocybin. They're soaking in the surreal yet nostalgic atmosphere, watching Spies Like Us play out on a retro TV rigged up in a corner of the hut. Meanwhile, an automated Chrome server farm glints in the corner, humming softly, sustaining their minimalist tech utopia with blinking lights resembling a silo control room. (Complete job descriptions in comments, as of this moment, there is only one remaining open role.) They'd only need to come out a couple of times a year to do Ted talks and maybe the occasional Wired puff piece. If the shrooms don't scramble their eggs, that is. Come to that, Ted talk might even improve, nevermind.

We're squarely in the middle of election season, and the spread of disinformation -- whether that is simply fringe theories or more sophisticated deepfakes -- will continue to perpetuate across media platforms. This can surface even more in the wake of major events, such as what happened this week. Both media platforms (including LinkedIn) as well as technology companies creating AI tools (including Microsoft), have a responsibility to help mitigate and stop the spread of false or misleading information. I'll continue to share what Microsoft is doing from the awareness, education and technology solution standpoint, as well as the direct outreach we're doing with Campaigns, in the National Conventions, and with key political organizations and influencer groups. This is a great article from Kevin Tian, founder of Doppel talking about how the company transitioned from detecting crypto scams to tackling digital threats like deepfakes and impersonations. Doppel uses AI to identify and remove harmful content, aiding in the protection of campaigns and organizations. With today’s environment and rapid growth of AI and deepfakes, Doppel is critical to help maintain election integrity. At today’s AI for Science Forum with Google DeepMind and The Royal Society, we are bringing together scientists, academics, policymakers and more to discuss how AI is propelling scientific breakthrough. One of the most compelling parts of the day has been understanding the practical application of AI technology in society — for example, making ultrasounds more cost effective and ultimately improving maternal health outcomes. And Alphafold - detailed below - will allow us to solve complex problems, leading to vaccine creation and disease treatment. Of course, we need to also grapple with key questions - how do we build and create inclusive data sets to allow for the right kind of innovation, how do we balance responsibility and opportunity as we leverage this new technology. $$ Billions are spent each year on diversity, equity and inclusion programs with mixed/questionable results. There were questions about their success before the Supreme Court's decision to overturn affirmative action programs in schools. To have a more inclusive corporate culture, you must establish a culture of civility. Based upon numerous studies over the last twenty years, there is no doubt that people with high emotional intelligence are more likely to be more inclusive, and successful in their personal and professional lives. Corporations need to integrate emotional intelligence training with DEI training to make the huge investment being made payoff - a more harmonious, productive, and innovative organizational environment.
