“Sheerine's openness and passion for justice made her an exceptional supervisor and an ideal mentor. We started working together in 2020 during undeniably difficult times for justice work, but her willingness to maintain joy and encouragement during good times and bad made the necessary work fluid and manageable. It was immediately evident that she knew how to listen, how to challenge me while serving as a source of support, and how to think creatively about the difficulties and complexities of liberatory work without losing hope. Her ability to make connections with anyone from fundraisers to our base members to external partners is incredible, and it speaks to how she sees the work as interconnected and how she can call in people with varying understandings of gender-based violence into a collaborative team working to make a better world possible. Her intentionality and wisdom speak to her years of experience in the field, which will only grow with time.”
