Speaking of thankfulness, have I mentioned these people? That's my team, ya'll. 🥰 I could tell you about their creativity, tireless effort, tremendous work ethic, collaborative spirit, fabulously good humor and so much more. It's all worthy of gratitude. But what I'd really like to spotlight is their collective wisdom. Here's just one example: We start all our weekly meetings with a Quick Q - a light-hearted question that eases us into the agenda and helps us connect beyond work. Usually the team picks the question, but following our most recent Commencement (at which we are pictured here), I posed this one: "What was the most impactful thing you ever learned as a student?" Here's what they said: 🎓 Lifelong Learning — "You're never going to know everything. You always have to keep learning." 💕 Kindness — "It may not always be reciprocated, but if you lead with kindness, you can inspire change." 🙏🏻 Teamwork — "It's okay to ask for help." 💡 Innovation — "Knowledge is a pathway to innovation." 💪🏻 Resilience — "If you make a mistake, it's okay. Pick yourself up and keep going. How you recover and move forward is what people will remember." I'll say it again: That's my team, ya'll! 🥹 I like to say "it takes many brains" to do great work. With Meta recently releasing its 2023 EEO-1 report detailing Executive and Professional (non-managerial) workforce by race and gender, I decided to look at longitudinal data for Meta and assess any recent improvements since last reviewing the question of executive equity for API women with available 2021 data. https://lnkd.in/g7eXhrpX Unfortunately, the new data show that while API men and women are now 54% of its Professional workforce, they remain the least equitably represented as Executives in Meta's workforce. And while White women now represent 9% of Meta's Professionals and 20% of its Executives, API Women's numbers are virtually flipped with 19% and 10%. A comparison of historical FB/Meta EEO-1 data from 2013 to 2023 show that White Women continue to remain ~3X more likely to reach Executive levels than API women. No improvement.

Summer is one of my favorite times of the year – it means more time with our kids, family vacations, and this year, the joy and excitement of seeing our daughter Victoria (12) and son James (8) go to sleep-away camp for the first time! Every June, during World Infertility Awareness Month, I reflect on the journey to parenthood that my husband Mark and I experienced. We’re deeply grateful for the amazing family we’ve built together. But getting here was a long and at times lonely journey of undergoing fertility treatments. Numbers show that we are far from alone: According to the latest data from the World Health Organization, 1 in 6 people worldwide face infertility. My advice to those on similar journeys is to build a community of confidants around you, both in your personal life and at work. Believe me, you’ll need it. I’m so grateful for the ways in which I was supported by my community – they provided crucial space for understanding, flexibility and emotional support. Another learning: It’s okay to cut yourself some slack. Trying to get pregnant, especially with IVF, can feel like a full-time job, and other aspects of your life may need to take the backseat temporarily. For some, it might be an easier path; for others it’s a rollercoaster of emotions: hope, uncertainty, fear, hope again, exhaustion, disappointment, sometimes grief, and hopefully, the eventual utmost joy of bringing a baby into the world. Accepting this reality and prioritizing my mental and physical well-being was a hard but important lesson. To anyone struggling with infertility, know that you are not alone. By sharing my story, I hope to bring some comfort and impart some practical advice. If this is not your story, I hope that I can help raise awareness. If you see someone who’s having a hard time, my best advice is to always be kind; we never know what others are going through. #WorldInfertilityAwarenessMonth
